Continuing education of the people is a prerequisite for a welfare state to function. The outsourcing of jobs that require the lowest education will naturally be outsourced.
You just have to decide whether you want to live in a country that's able to compete on the global market, but unable to attend to its weak, or a country that provides basic services such as free healthcare and education (which I consider a human right,) but isn't as well-suited for low-payed jobs.
I'll use the free online service provided by my country's department of treasury. All I need to get started is the certificate that was also provided for free.
You seem to be forgetting all of Microsoft's IE-based webapps, such as the Exchange Web Interface, which require IE. If everybody used Firefox those products would become worthless.
This is actually quite scaring. One of my neighbours's computers were confiscated by the police about a month ago because of alleged child pornography downloading (3 pictures.) The house was empty at the time of the crime though (it was before noon,) and they had a wireless network (which wasn't protected by anything, not even WEP,) so anyone could have stood on the sidewalk and downloaded the pictures. They'll get their computers back in about 6 months...
Actually, I believe there already exists a robotic "surgery arm" for difficult surgery. It allows the surgeon to control the knife/whatever very precisely. It has already been mentioned (too lazy to throw in a link) that there's no need for the surgeon to physically be at the hospital...
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but the US and Europe ain't the World. There's also, you know, the others. They may be poorer, but that doesn't make them any less important. So drop the "western rulez!" shit.
Yup, either PHP, Perl or Ruby (the latter would make it LAPR though...)
I for one would welcome our teletubby overlords...

And yes, I'm not from the US.

Dude, the cold war is over. My bet is that half of your computer hardware was manufactured in Taiwan.
You Americans are the only ones that believe we (the western, "democratic" nations) actually need that thing...

He's on vacation, but he said he'll be back.
I'm with stupid (But maybe with PostgreSQL as the DB.)

Oh, and the PC's at the school should be filled with open source software! I'm talking Linux, OpenOffice.org, Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird etc. etc.
... Like in Enemy of the State? Will I get assassined if I break it?
Cool...
How about the money "wasted" in developing the nuclear weapon?
Wait, do you think the invention of the nuclear bomb was a step forward for humanity?!
... The US is still the main exporter of SPAM...
Finally we see some action! It's about time they got competive.
The US, however, still has a lot of catching-up to do: Denmark and Germany are still the key players on the wind power market.

I didn't know that the US government could prevent me from logging on to the internet, even though I'm not a US citizen. Spooky.
This is yet another proof that the US goverment is semi-fascist. What ever happened to freedom of speach?
google is A FUCKING BUSINIESS
They are? Wow, I thought they were a business!
In any race, the advantage is to the guy in front...
