Great call on MOO2...but perhaps the biggest disappointment ever was MOO3. Three weeks after playing that game I still didn't know what was going on...
One of the best things about PIPEDA is how comprehensive it is. Many of the privacy laws that the U.S. has enacted only singles out certain types of businesses and is limited in scope. Eventually, other laws have to be passed -- such as FACTA -- to address issues that other laws completely missed (Gramm-Leach-Bliley or HIPAA, for example).
I just happen to be researching and writing something on PIPEDA...it sounds like this principle (3rd of 10) was violated:
Obtain Consent - Every organization is responsible for getting consent from the person whose information will be collected, used and/or disclosed. Consent is defined as voluntary agreement with what is being done and may be implied or expressed. In addition, the individual must be told the details of why, how and when the information is being collected, used or disclosed.
Maybe you should just have said a scorecard that discounts results you don't want to think about.
Yeah, that's what I said. I want a resource that compiles all of these studies and presents the results, and that's somehow biased, while your assumption isn't biased? God forbid if I want to review all of the evidence and the sources and decide for myself.
It seems that every day we have someone coming out with a study that either affirms or denies global warming. Isn't there a scorecard to keep track of all of these?
"People are cheating the system. They are hurting Michigan small businesses, and they're very open about it," Sarafa said. "People tell store owners they're buying a pack of cigarettes only because they're waiting for their next shipment to come in."
Actually, it is the tax itself that is hurting businesses -- they don't see that revenue, and demand drops.
Can we flamebait the original post? Due to his sarcastic remarks about the UK, hardly any of this conversation has had anything to do with the actual article. (OTOH, of course, I did enjoy the my-country-is-better-than-yours discourse)
Panera was part of Au Bon Pain...and panera might mean breadbasket in Spanish (a few sites out there have mentioned it, but Babelfish doesn't know it).
I was just there this morning. I needed an Asiago Cheese bagel and some coffee. The coffee isn't that great, but it is cheaper than Starbucks, and it actually drinkable within the hour:)
When a company actually loses one of these cases, then it will be news. But as of now, all of these the "GTA/Ozzy/Judas Priest made me do it" cases are losers, and the correct decision has been made.
25 million and my company it is still barely -- or not -- registering on my company's logs. It's a shame, too, because until it does, I'll be the only one that cares that our site looks like ass in Firefox.
Finally, someone with a comment about the theme song. I'm sitting here with it going through my head, and it is making me insane. My gf can tolerate me watching reruns and reruns of TNG, but when she heard that sappy, awful song, she couldn't help but laugh.
Looks like a review of the table of contents, not the book.

What's a mouse?

Maybe I should've said unbiased scorecard...

We (the U.S.) stole Graham Norton! Which, actually, is a shame, because I enjoyed his show via BBC America more than what it is on Comedy Central...

Hmmm...the Krystal near here is next to a Panera, so maybe they are just borrowing it :) Honestly, that's the last place I'd expect to find one...

Like Manhattan Bagel? Or Chesapeake Bagel? It has been done before...

You're argument has come full circle. From blaming games, to blaming guns, to blaming the media!
John Edwards did this? And still became an elected official on Tobacco Road???

That's all you need to know.
"What is Lojak, Alex?"
Relgion needs a "hot topic" to stay relevent.
I suppose that priests behaving badly is not the "hot topic" that you speak of...
These were the same students that majored in "Ecommerce"...

What casual fan could take this show seriously?
Some government will sue them, of course...
