This layout is horrible! Get some trees in there! Some buildings? This guy made up the computer idea to hide the fact that he couldn't use plaster-of-Paris.
Are you telling me that an animal has to be very intelligent to not tangle its arms? Are you kidding me? It sounds like instinct or common sense, to me...
XM has spoken with Apple. The CEO stated it the other day, saying that he didn't feel that he needed to announce it at a conference (like Sirius' Mel Karmazin did).
From yesterday's press release:
On a conference call with analysts, XM chief executive Hugh Panero said he was optimistic that "the potential market for satellite radio is far greater than previously thought or currently modeled by most analysts."
Panero added that XM had talked with Apple Computer Inc. chief executive Steve Jobs about the possibility of marrying satellite radio with Apple's popular iPod digital music player, and that Jobs rejected the idea. Sirius on Wednesday said it received a similar response.
"(Apple) said on these convergence issues, they feel that they're happy where they are," Panero said. (Jobs) said he's willing to be wrong and time will tell."
Who cares is Apple doesn't want to work with Sirius or XM? This is an opportunity for any mp3 player manufacturer to create a product that will differentiate it from IPods. I'd bet that the other players -- IRiver, Creative, etc -- are talking to satellite radio providers. This will happen, eventually, and Apple will lose out.
I think it is a lie! They are just saying that they'll RFID their chips for two reasons. The first is to increase security by scaring people, and the second is to get free publicity. So, they get two windfalls (security, publicity) for nothing! Profit!
It's the disadvantage at being judged short-term (quarterly) versus the long view the Japan takes...it takes a good leader to not bow under pressure to quarterly results and have a good long-term strategy.
Why isn't anyone asking why he is searching through a "dumper" in the first place???
WO!!! Metallica has NEVER worn make-up. Just because they had long hair doesn't mean they were KISS :)
Ah, but the significance is that the Grammys are based strictly on sales. Whoever sells the most albums gets a Grammy, period.
Not according to their web site, where it basically states the the awards are based on a multi-tiered voting process.
OTOH, an album that sold over 500,000 copies through Starbucks alone won 8 Grammys...
Looks like I could use them, since non-Simpsons fans are modding it off-topic...
I have a few other ideas as to how to kill cancer:
Jump off of a bridge
Head-on collision with a tractor-trailer
Rip off the mafia
Mono?
This sounds more like a Shelbyville idea...

Wow, timely for two reasons and funny :)
He said the successful theft of personal data, by thieves who smashed windows to gain access
It looks like Microsoft will be blamed again!
I believe that they chop off your hand...

XM has its satellites Rock & Roll aimed at the east and west costs of the US...

Eh, it isn't like you can get parking at some of the parking lots after 9 a.m., anyway :)

Thank god your not the CEO.
Thank God you're not, either!

What happened to innovation? They decided that "invent" would be their ad slogan. And that's about it.
Unfortunately, this is a step backwards towards the glass ceiling...because her decisions didn't work, not because people were out to get her.
Wow, if we had this now, the entire plotline of this year's 24 would be unbelievable.
I think that The Pretender had to have a mini-series or made-for-TV movie to wrap things up, as well...
How much would the rights to the wonderful theme song cost?
When a majority of Slashdot posters are making fun of some Star Trek fans, you know that this is crazy idea :)
