    Western Canada: MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ (I've actually never met someone in real life with an ICQ number)

    AIM and Yahoo are somewhat interchangable depending on who you're talking to, due to our close-ness to the states. :)

    I have experience with Asbestos spamming :P

    The clicks can be worth from $2 (depending on where you are in the world/time) to almost $100, sometimes you'll log on and see $70 - one click and you feel like jumping out of your seat. :D

    Patents should only apply to things that are truely unique: things like rollerblades should be patentable. Who's idea was it to say a service could be patentable?

    This isn't Slashdot worthy material, but I'll answer it with some information anyways.

    The key to noise cancelling is direction. The inversed noise has to be travelling in the same direction the noise otherwise would, and it has to be inverted and spat out at almost the exact same time.

    While the speed issue isn't a problem, the microphone and speakers aren't good for the directionalness. It works well in headphones, because with headphones you have a very specific direction: in to your ear. The microphone can pick up things relatively directional (depending on the type of mic.) but the speakers are made to spread sound, not to aim it.

    That and they would have to be in roughly the same location (within a few cm.) for it to work properly.

    What I want, is a noise cancelling dome, so two people can go under it, talk, and have no one outside hear anything, that'd be cool.

    If you call 1 604 512 6226, the prices are a little different. While in Canadian dollars, the Open PC comes out to $200 CDN cheaper than the Windows box, approximately the cost of a Windows box. YOu just have to make sure you say you want "Computer X without Windows" and ask how much Windows costs... it works, I've done it.

    Subscribing to my own site, BetaDot's RSS feed has served problems. I find that it works on some tries, but on others it loads an RSS feed from a completely different site... usually unrelated... it appears I may be exposing what OTHER PEOPLE are syndicating.

    It's probably because my feed is malformed, either way, it's a bug.

    I run a technology news blog, which makes a lot of money for very little work... I can't tell you exactly how much however it is in the range of $100 / day..

    The only thing I can suggest, is get indexed by as many sites as you can (Google News is a good one) and keep the ads as targetted as you can. I run some ads through AdSense and some through Azoogleads, and have worked directly with many contributors as they come up.

    Actually, CNet has no clue what they are talking about, Yahoo! calls it their small publisher network (here)... it is for any website that wants to run it, just like AdSense.

    Nice spelling, and way to mention that MSOffice will always assume the paste in Enhanced mode, which will take longer, as it's looking for formatting.

    There's also this thing at the top called "Sign-up" or, if you've already done that, there is a thing called "Login". You might want to do that so we can tell whether you are the same Anon. as the other one. I am in Threaded mode, however, I figure you were too dumb to reply to the appropriate comment. I am (and was) well aware that the parent of your comment was the other guy, however, the comment made little sense in that notion.

    I have my own s i t e s - many of them, I make money from my own sites and I am willing to post on Slashdot under a name, that has my email address and website URLs available for anyone to read (unlike you, who goes around calling people sniveling little fag's under an anonymous coward title). If anyone has a problem with something I say (which, has happened), they are free to contact me by various means, my websites, my email, etc. You will also notice that I have not once posted a story clearly in an attempt to self-promote my sites, although some of my sites do have quality Slashdot-style information I will not try to promote my self. This site is not here to promote your sites, it's here to provide news to those who want news.

    Thus, there are no good comments on this article, because there is nothing to discuss, tis is just some lame attempt at promoting "GoogleGuide" that seemed to work. In the future, I hope the Slashdot editors will try to kill self-promotion unless it has something interesting or related. I mean, the Google-Functions are pretty easy to figure out for us nerds, I mean the odd one like "rphonebook" or whatever it was is interesting, and I didn't know it was a feature, but.
