NASA rolled the space shuttle Discovery onto a launch pad on Friday hoping to leave behind problems exposed by the 2003 Columbia disaster and begin a final round of flights

"He says the failure to open-source Java means that it can't be used on millions of $100, Linux-powered PCs envisioned under Nicholas Negroponte's One Laptop Per Child project,"
I could never get used to the Media Player interface. It feels like everything is slightly off and it's a lot of effort to use. I would compare the feeling to the difference between a diner and a restaurant. It's just subtle and hard to explain.
In the very late 90's I was a combination Real Player/Real Radio fan, then switched to Winamp/Shoutcast and haven't looked back since. Now Winamp is starting to slide ever so gently since the original team left and AOL took it over. Real play is not an option anymore. If Winamp starts to turn me off I really don't know what I would gravitate towards.
Interestingly enough, warfarin was originally developed as a rat poison and is still used that way today. I remember warfarin bait being sold at the local feed and seed store. It makes rats bleed to death (thinning blood).
Ya right, I want to explicitly drag the browser war straight into my commercial web sites. That should help business. What kind of web sites will you see with banners telling the user to switch? This is no better than the old "Designed for x Browser" buttons that were displayed in the past. In fact this is worse.
Therefore I said I would sign it in exchange for a contribution of 10 reais (5 dollars) for the Free Software Foundation. Likewise, I realized that hundreds or thousands might ask me to pose with them for photographs. So I decided to ask 5 reais for this, about $2.50, also for the Free Software Foundation.
If it's an official donation to the FSF, the foundation should also provide the option of official tax receipts to those who donate, unless there is a lower limit imposed; for example: no tax receipts for donations under $10. So they were anonymous donations. I have no doubt the money will go to FSF. FSF should publish the amount raised for interest sake (if not for us to calculate how many autographs he actually signed!)
There's nothing that goes against freedom here that I can see. It's a standard donation model being used.
As long as Azureus program continues to meet my needs, I don't have to switch. They aren't going to sell the Azureus software to end users. How the content model ends up being fiscally viable, we don't know yet. Just because something isn't open-source doesn't mean I'm searching for crappy clients to find something else. Commercialization in some respect represents the maturity and popularity of the software. I certainly don't begrudge them that. It's their baby. They can choose to open-source it and to close it. It's up to individuals whether they want to stick with it or not. But I can guarantee you that most of the off-the-cuff comments I see around here "Well, it's time to move to another" will not come to fruition. Easy to say. Tough to do.
Maybe a 38% boost in vacation time by saving several minutes a day commuting but try to feel the effect of your extra five six minutes a day. It's too short and gets lost in the day. You're going to cause youself more frustration fretting over your six min./day savings especially if the statistics start shifing, which of course will cause you stress and health problems and you'll die that much sooner. Forget about it. Instead start thinking about REAL vacation time. E.g. How can I get an extra week of minutes successfully off this year...
Hey, you could've tried to rip the guy apart but you didn't. Great example. I think we can all learn from such a non-adversarial response. Thanks for the example.
We still say stuff like "The thing with the flashing light needs to be fixed" and "The moving thing on that page that stateless page need to be changed to work with the progamming language in the browser that calls back to the main computer for more information." I mean, it takes a little longer to describe but at least we're not confused by buzz-words and stuff.
So what happens if a bird or sky-diver gets in the way? At worst, will it maybe delay the laser's ability to blow up the missle for only a second or so? Then I still feel safe... as long as I'm not sky-diving.
I've think I'm having an urge to use some other service.

Grow Your Own Sweater.
Well ahem, if that's his only good argument ....
Just modify the Wiki page. Share the better explanation with the world instead of leaving it here.
I laughed, I cried, it was part of me. Too bad it's still downloading.

It just seemed a factoid fitting for Slashdot. Of course the right dosage can help people which need it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warfarin
Remove Apple's copyrighted picture and create a re-enactment picture using toothpaste or something awful like that.
That baby would be tough on the birth canal.
So Microsoft will pay Microsoft to place its search engin in the lead position. Problem solved!
Well I'm disappointed the damn first link doesn't work! I expect to see the fix soon ... anytime now ...

Maybe you're not staying but while you're here you must see NYC. Or if you're in Canada visit ... oh never mind.
Obviously Norton Antivirus doesn't protect against the IRS. Dammit, I knew should have read the EULA.
I'm sure glad this one was patented because it will prevent any other company from using the technique!
