I honestly don't get.Net. I hear QNX has a resource management system that makes.Net look cheesy. Btw, if I get overrated as a troll shouldn't that be a +1?
There are specific requirements in the DMCA that plaintiffs must fulfill. Failure to fulfill these requirements invalidates any statement of "good faith" in pursuing defendants. Yet, sites are being shut down which have no content simply becuase a spider program trips over some keywords.
Can the DOJ advise or require plaintiffs to verify the content (as the DMCA requires them to do) before sending out the lawyers? Can they penalize them for failure to do so?
Would it be possible for the DOJ to require plaintiffs to apply for a certificate of good faith or some such document to prevent abuse by the plaintiffs?
AAny suggestions to that effect that might be more feasible if those are too resource consuming?
Oh, the vast sound of the nothingness you speak. Ghz is not performance. Case in point: the VIA C3 chip is nothing but a 733Mhz 486. You're going to tell me a Celeron 600Mhz is slower?
Similarly a G4 1.2 Ghz can run circles around a P4 1.2 Ghz.
1.Read AHRA. 2.Set up webcast. 3.Wait 3 seconds. 4.Invite RIAA lawyers for a cup of coffee (they'll be at your door by then). 5.Tie them to a chair. 6.Play rockon.html. 7.Videotape the torture. 8.Sell video. 9.Profit. 10.Go back to bed.
Already the game-violence hysteria has died in areas which were first to take up the issue.
This too shall pass. As long as we don't make idiots of ourselves which would add credibility to the idea.
And if you want to argue here's a few routes you can try:
1. Television is much worse than video games. 2. Brain-activity is non-existent while watching TV. 3. Brain-activity is a measure of the quality of the game not the content. If that is confusing, think Video BINGO vs a flash card game. 4. Video games are as good for the thinking process as outside sports are good for the physical health. 5. Video games can put people in dramatic situations that are as important as reading a quality novel. Harlan Ellison's video game adaptation of "I have no mouth but I must speak" comes to mind. Black and White as well. 6. Video games are just one form of multimedia. There's a CD called Starry Night which makes some bold statements about Van Gogh (he was so scared about his ear-cutting episode, HE put HIMSELF in the hospital. A little more rational than most would believe, no?) Video games can enhance this, especially in the puzzle/research genres. 7. Video games can expose biases and be a forum for discussion probably even better than that CD was. Instead of some voice telling you how to think you can observe what biases do in an RPG.
You can't switch from Mac to PC that easily. I bet people would be upgrading to newer Mac mobos if that were available.
On the other hand, I have to say that the desktop performance of PCs is abysmal for doing any kind of work. The software is a big part of it. The CPU (x86) influences the crappiness of software.
It's a mistake to think that speed is just for gamers. I'm sick of waiting for software to respond. What Blachford didn't mention is another advantage of the Pegasos: MorphOS. For Free Software zealots it might be a problem, however, the OS is modular enough that you can replace any of the pieces with Free ones as needed.
I'd send a few probes at every 10 degrees away from Earth and have them drop various hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon trapping thingies every so often. Heck while the probes are travelling they should collect the building blocks for building the trapping thingies, deposit the stuff, then use some to get a nice boost to the next drop point.
By the time the probe reaches its end, the next generation on earth would have the resources to go out and reach someone... er something.
Communism capitalism fascism - all the same thing. Fascism is the union of the two preceeding. How is protecting the first guy laisez faire (leave it alone)? Protecting the first guy means interfering with everyone else.
MP3: Profits were not eroded. Plenty of research sucpports this. Control was eroded. RIAA claimed profits because they didn't want to admit loss of control.
Patents: New control. Therefore they are against the NewEconomy.
That's precisely my point - they're both model-based, not CGI.
Actually they're wimp moron based.
You see to do without CGI takes a lot of effort and time, so the producer gives you a lot of leeway. To do with CGI means the producer expects you to turn water into wine. By the end there's no room for plot and other useful elements.
It will be funded under plan B. The one where they remember to put the clause, "It's for the children."

I guess I'll never get it.
Gimme Lynx or gimme death...
Actually just gimme emacs-w3, that's close enough to death anyways.

And what is your Intel hype based on?
Microprocessor speed doesn't make apps better any more than horsepower makes a car's distribution of power to tires smoother.
PPC by design handles better than x86. The Ghz is meaningless.
The keyboard doesn't take up valuable space in my closet like all that junk.

No it's beacuse the original was of 15 year old level, and 8 year olds were watching it. Now it's 8 year old level and 25 years olds are watching it.
Smart 8 year olds loved it because it was smarter than the other 8 year old compatible cartoons, also known as commercials in disguise.
The ultimate in useless acts of irrelevance.

I'm sure we can come up w/ more.
Why do more people go to the same media that they see on TV?
Because the computer is not the network, the computer is the TV.
I wonder what Sony's site has to offer that people would even start the web browser on the PS2.

No. It didn't suck that much. What sucked was Mystic Quest.
The RIAA is afraid we'll spider the site for new additions to the books eliminating the element of surprise.
It's the only one I beat.
No concept of investment whatsoever.
Silly. Trying to get free energy... What maroons!

Go back to fondling your icons.
I'm going to try this in an xterm which can be scaled much better than SVGATEXTMODE.
Oh my god, shocking! Evil filthy!Half breed Software!Console Blasphemous! /me pulls back the curtain over the Screaming Painting

CGIs don't kill movies. Producers kill movies.
Well then I will put on my DMCAproof undies and hack something that'll make Deus-EX run on Linux on the Pegasos PPC board.
Hmm... Why not just run programs as user app, in group apps. No, that would make too much sense.
