To be fair I have battled with all AV software when I used to write file system filter drivers for NT(in NT a AV is just another filter driver in the NT "stack"). They are all incredibly flaky... even my own on some occasions. The problem was that the documentation of that part of NT is such that writing driver can sometimes require a goat sacrifice. MS liked to change things and forget to tell people. MS office was incredibly guilty of that... MS Word and Excel do very weird undocumented things when interacting with the filesystem.
I may have agreed with some of what you said but the sentence fragment "i personally disagree with homosexuality" jsut make you look foolish and I am afraid taints everything you say.
Thankfully my guys code never made it to PROD. A good thing too as it was going to talk to the Notes mail servers that were seriously close to being at capacity... for an organisation of around 10,000 people:)
I've come across worse than this. I have encountered java only developers that think *everything* is managed in java. So database connections don;t need to be closed as I was told by one young developer... while trying to figure out why the Notes DB he was connected to was periodically failing due to it running out of connections.
I think generally you are correct. I did know someone once who used a mobile phone that he charged of his laptop on the main train ride down... he used his mobile to watch because half way thru his commute he had to change to the London Underground which was very crowded and he said it was easier to just pull out his phone and continue watching. I guess the people I see every now and again watching their phones on trains.
Lots of people commute on trains. Here in the UK I know people that spend 4 hours a day at least on a train. They watch movies and TV shows quite often.
Just a small correction. Bank is not a borough of London. The area you are referring to in located in the the City of London(or The City or Square Mile as it is commonly called). Bank is a local area in The City near the end of Threadneedle St roughly.
Many years ago I used to work on a high transaction real time system running on QNX. We had a transaction type log that was in a Watcom SQL database... used to run that on a RAM disk with clever flushing code that made sure it got to a disk when the system had non-hard realtime deadlines. It was one of my favourite bits of code to tinker with and watch working.
I think Donald Knuth said is best regarding the versioning of TeX. TeX uses pi as the version number... everytime a new version is relased a number is to be added to the pi version... currently it is 3.1415926. The person to find the last bug will put the last number of pi.
Pretty much all nations have the same thing as the US FDIC(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deposit_insurance#By_EU_country). The Eurozone banking system(and western Europe in general) has a lot more coherent banking than the US(mainly because the US has a tradition of lots of little "Mom and Pop" banks that don't really integrate as well). The US is still using cheques for goodness sake:) American banking is generally regarded as something of a pain in the arse compared to the rest of the world.
You think people don't realise this? It is not that simple... you cannot just snap your fingers and reconstruct political and social structures that have histories in the order of thousands of years.
I read works of fiction and non-fiction on my smartphone. I also have an offline wiki mirror there which comes in very useful. I also listen to audio books and lectures. Most of my TV viewing(which isn't much) is via netflix and lovefilm on a PS3.
When I was doing Computing in High School the guy teaching us was a first year CompSci student part time. I quickly learnt that all of his homework assignments were in fact his homework and assignments for basically Programming 101. I was not sure if this guy was evil or a genius.
Do be fair chimps are kinds of assholes in the wild. When they come across a groups of chimps smaller than them they slaughter them... if the same size or greater they put on dominance displays and they leave.
Australian here. You also should keep in mind that the Australian Liberal Party(and in reflection the state Liberal parties) is usually part of a coalition with the National Party who are generally pro-country and right wing. The particular political leaning of a Liberal Party or Coalition MP will be generally right wing... but that may vary greatly from person to person(probably much like the US republication party)... Especially in the big cities you will find Liberal MPs that are very centre right... out in the sticks(Sorry electorate of Bass) you can find some true wing nuts.

And how do you pronounce char?
I cut my C teeth on z80 port of Jame Hendrix Small-C. I suspect there are others.

I thought the INS was absorbed in the Dept of Homeland whatever its called. Not American so I could be wrong.

Iran is going to go up there and knock over the American flag.

I have not really been paying much attention to this case but really thats part of it? Are they required by some law to do this? If so what law?
Na... humans are much worse.

Seriously? The unibomber was (in his mentally ill way) against science... he was sending bombs to scientists and engineers.
Perhaps they could do things at the federal level?
You sound like an american... things like .com.au and the like was the intention. If the US used .com.us I'd be much happier.
Next they should choose a single standard programming language... I hear Ada is very popular.
