there are other tools that produces good graphics, what passes my head is why people are so very stuck with GIMP. i mean it has a cluttered interface and other problems, so why stick to it?!
i presume most of this is from donations because the ISO's can be downloaded free. so if linux is turning into a cash cow just by being a free software, then think how much it would have made by being a commercial one... ha! ha! got ya... it would have made quite less as its appreciation comes from its FOSS tag, right?!
now that's what i call paying for what you like and not what your vendor insists... more power to FOSS.
well i guess it depends from user to user and the type of work they do. if your just into writing your thesis, then LCD is fine but a graphic designer would not be very happy with it, even the newer ones...
the consumers will have an idea of what FOSS has got to offer without having the hassles to actually shift to it. if they find it useful, they will make the big change. i believe its a win for FOSS...
yes every country has its own unique IP type but i doubt whether that will be of any help. usually spammers mask IP's or send spam mails from 'zombie computers' from other countries...
interesting thought, i guess large companies would work better with linux too. though there is no formal survey many governmental departments in india run linux and our annual budget has come down a lot...
most probably it will be light-weight and will not clog the machines to the neck, like previous AOL stuff used to do. as it has been mentioned, the browser will be IE dependent, which means the HTML etc deciphering part will be from the IE code, thus it will taken even less time to load (unlike FF or netscape).
what i can't understand is what happens to the linux users (an most offices use linux)!!!

just think how much will AOL get when they sue the spammers!!!
big fleshy deal, you get the same on radio, mobile phones and police check posts...
exactly what i want to say, looks like /. is turning into a bulletien board...
well i tried your search too and aparently its providing the proper results. may be you should try again...
i think that would be the work of the CPU to allocate different cores for different purposes and not compilers.
i would suggest that you read the article once more. it has been written clearly that global warming has been taken into consideration.

i believe a review in simple words with a pictures would have been much much better... after all /. 'ers are busy geeks, you know... ;)
though a bit of an exaggeration, i guess there is a near about possibility especially if we have DNA chips...
there was this site propagating against this issue... any one remember what it was?!
