  3. Manic Miner on Pac-Man As Pot Head · · Score: 2, Interesting

Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy were obviously created while under the influence. I heard that Matt Smith (the creator) became a bit of a druggy after that, but is apprently doing ok for himself now with manic miner being licenced for mobile phones and the GBA. From the pics I've seen of him, the drugs have surely left their mark.

  4. Stop being annoying on DoubleClick Warns Against Ad-Blocking Browsers · · Score: 1

If the banners weren't annoying flash or animated gifs then i wouldn't be so inclined to block them. Some of them now have sounds effects and huge popups when you mouse over them. Also I have never clicked a banner on perpose anyway, I doubt many adblock users would click banners either.

Has anyone at MS ever explained *why* they do this?
The reason they do this is to make the interface look clean. It would be messy if all your shortcuts ended in .pif or .lnk. And we all know asthetics are more important than security. Then again, there really is no reason to not include a 2nd option to unhide these extensions too.
  12. Re:I don't get it. on Netscape Releases Security Update · · Score: 1

They have bloated it quiet a bit, it takes at least twice as long to load as Firefox, also it monitors your browser usage unless you uncheck a hidden box in the installation. Plus there's the added benefit of supporting IE so it's even less secure.

My system is an athlon64 3500+, 1024mb ram, radeon x800pro running windows xp sp2/32bit and firefox uses at most 4% cpu when auto-scrolling, IE uses about the same too but doesn't scroll as smoothly. It could be a driver issue when rending the little transparent png if firefox uses some hardware acceleration for that.

Isn't liquid nitrogen only liquid because it has been cooled to such a low temp? Thus it'll just turn to gas and stay as gas when it heats up. Ok for a short time cooling über-overclocked cpus, but not much use for running a machine full time.
