Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy were obviously created while under the influence. I heard that Matt Smith (the creator) became a bit of a druggy after that, but is apprently doing ok for himself now with manic miner being licenced for mobile phones and the GBA. From the pics I've seen of him, the drugs have surely left their mark.
If the banners weren't annoying flash or animated gifs then i wouldn't be so inclined to block them. Some of them now have sounds effects and huge popups when you mouse over them.
Also I have never clicked a banner on perpose anyway, I doubt many adblock users would click banners either.
The group of people with the best weapons are the ones that claim ownership, so when china, korea or russia get close to mars expect a war for it's resources (if it has any).
Has anyone at MS ever explained *why* they do this?
The reason they do this is to make the interface look clean. It would be messy if all your shortcuts ended in.pif or.lnk. And we all know asthetics are more important than security. Then again, there really is no reason to not include a 2nd option to unhide these extensions too.
They have bloated it quiet a bit, it takes at least twice as long to load as Firefox, also it monitors your browser usage unless you uncheck a hidden box in the installation. Plus there's the added benefit of supporting IE so it's even less secure.
My system is an athlon64 3500+, 1024mb ram, radeon x800pro running windows xp sp2/32bit and firefox uses at most 4% cpu when auto-scrolling, IE uses about the same too but doesn't scroll as smoothly.
It could be a driver issue when rending the little transparent png if firefox uses some hardware acceleration for that.
Isn't liquid nitrogen only liquid because it has been cooled to such a low temp? Thus it'll just turn to gas and stay as gas when it heats up. Ok for a short time cooling über-overclocked cpus, but not much use for running a machine full time.
I use the fglrx ATI drivers in ubuntu and never had a problem running doom3, ut2004 and most importantly tuxracer.
That site seems to break the firefox back button. i clicked a screen shot and can't get back to the page :(

It actully identifies as IE but also has Opera at the end of the user agent string. Sites looking for opera will find it.
Daddy or chips?

from the memory stick or from a little trickery with your dns server so it downloads from a different site.
The firmware is flashable and a cracked 1.5 is in the works which could be released in the next month or so.
Guys will buy this for the same reason guys buy high-powered sports cars... to get the chicks!

Just download the Xvid rip instead, no need for a VCR.

Surly they have the ability to tell the rover to wait a few hours before doing what it's been told to do.
Communism at its best :)
This was done in dungeon siege too. You can play the entire game from start to finish with not a single loading screen appearing. Very nice indeed.
for win9x there was a tool around that let you select the colours used by the BSOD, not so sure if one exists for NT though.

Are you an aspie?
It seems to check the referrer and gives an proxy error from /.
The joke was they were offering infinity +1 not 2GB. the 2GB is for real.
Actully it's CTRL+SHIFT+S is to disable styles. At least in my version it is.
Maybe they could donate it to NASA to keep the Voyagers running for an extra year.
