Year ago I changed the setting in MS Word to save files as.RTF by default. Now I heardly have any more.DOC files. It recommend that every company's IT department do the same to all machines.
The nice thing about AJAX is that it works in all modern browsers. (And it makes for dynamic pages too.) So a framework that requires.NET is a step backwards.
What are you talking about it works well. You don't write code to go over each character of the XML! Use the builtin stuff.

Slashdot just wouldn't be Slashdot with boring/sane stuff like that in there!
How about this: a new version of Apache [a http [http is the the web protocol] server [a program [an ordered set of instructions] that runs all the time] was just released.
The US is getting more and more paranoid. I wouldn't be surprised if it is routinely shutdown every time we are in a homeland security declared red alert. Nice to have a alternative.
Also, most new laptops have WiFi these days - not GPS. That alone make this useful.
Perhaps that really is the reason. But if they really wanted to they could -even now- switch to a forward slash. They could make their commands understand dashes for options and when you see copy/b c:/file1.txt c:/file2.txt is pretty reason for a program to understand that the/b is an option.
That Dilbert house is quite nice and smart. It shows that houses are easily built now but they have bad ergonomics. Like the formal dining room: so big, and expensive but rarely used. If house builders designed UIs there would be huge buttons for rarely used functions.
Thanks for tips on how to configure an obsolete program I recall using a few years ago called sendmail. I don't think I am going to switch back. How about postfix receipes?

Some people like it - some don't. That's why modular is good.
Except Microsoft isn't an ex-evil doer.

Vietnam had to wait for Microsoft to release a local-lauguage version (of Windows?). If they used open source they could make it themselves.
So he only takes to other heads of state now.
What an ass.
How is going to hear what's really going on from these guys.
PDX is the Portland Airport.
I'd rather work downtown.

These rip-offs are a bit of proof that Miranada is the best open source multiprotocol IM client around.
Give it a try if you haven't already!
While they are on their way to being more Unix-like how about fixes their broken backslashes. It would be nice to be able to do:
cd '/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox'
I work all day at my computer at home I love to get out of the house and see a movie or anything!
How about some undersea tracks from Calif. to Japan. But some bullet trains on there - now that would be cool.
It only works with Windows and I don't think its documented. So what if it compresses a bit more.
Well, does it?
Will Apple on Intel have big honking fans?
Yuck.
I guess it would be impossible to have a piece of paper on which you write these notes beside your computer. Or even in your Firefox bookmarks!
With BitTorrent the slashdot effect actually helps.
Since there are likely to be more users downloading and they are more likely to be close to you.

So are they going to run IE as a different user like we run Apache (as user apache). I don't think Firefox does that.
Does the code in your sig work?
I would think you'd need main() { exit(1); }
