Videos aren't images. It takes way longer to watch even the shortest video than an image. Its much easier for an amateur to make a great photo than a great video. Etc. Of course, sharing videos on the net is inevitable but it'll be different in many nontechnical ways.
You have a good point. Someday an employer will try to extend this to white colar workers saying: clearly his long beard and sandals where the uniform or a Unix guru. Could happen.
It would be nicer if you could search for stock:GOOG since eventually every three and four letter combo is going to be a stock. You don't want stock results.
> This revolution may even end up being televised.
Did you watch TV on the morning of Sept 11, 2001? Anybody who says "the revolution won't be televised" is well...wrong. (I know you, mi, aren't saying that.)
Yeah, yeah we know hydrogen isn't an energy source. But its a way of storing energy so its not entirely wrong to say "inventing in... hydrogen energy".
And, syntax aside, it is something worth inventing in!!!
... its embarasing. Compare it to CPAN (perl) or Java. It can't do very much. I wish they could get some real functionality in there. Adding the Boost stuff is nice but. What some something like Java's SWT where you can write an entire GUI using the standard library. Now that would be an improvement for C++.
I would be very easy to do. Just "steal" the API spec's from Java. That's what C# did. Just recode the entire Java API into some C++.h header files. Call it the standard and let vendors code it out. Sweet!
I agree with you and use the same strategy. In fact because of all the thousands of dollars I've saved over the years by not having a car I was able to buy a nice house that's downtown and really close (walking distance) to most things. To me this is obvious.
I don't know if I trust a style guide with "The New" in the title. Nothing stays new forever. What about when the next version of C comes out? You'll have to go back a revise the title! Why not do it right the first time and call it "C90/C++ Style" or something.
Maybe times when cleaning up other people's files I have run into files with "new" in the name... dated years ago. A sure sign it can be deleted.
There are lots of posts here saying how IPoPower will never work because of this or that. Google isn't mad of dummies - maybe the are investing in a company that has solved these issues? My bet is that its a solution for a small area - like reading power meters.
Its neat how the API works. You get the browser to read in some javaScript from a Google Site then you write javaScript in the page to use loaded classes. Nice.

And that oil from Canada will last forever?
Luckily conventional power plants are immune from bombs....not.
Can you set the version of Windows that WINE is to (not)emulate?
I guess I'll have to boycott their stuff.
Oh wait, I'm a nerd - I have no need for their
preppy crap anyways. Jeans and EFF T-shirts for me.
We could do with less terrestrial weapons
Evoltion isn't random -- mutations might be.

I don't want the fastest or biggest disk.
Just the quietest.

When is Google going to add a way for us
to search in ALL their databases (News, Groups, Scolar, books, etc)???!!!
Gawd do I hate NN/NN/NN dates!!!
I *think* you mean 2004-Nov-18 but I can't be sure.

Well, guess what the terrorists have won.

It may be fun driving with a stick... but I just couldn't be bothered. Its like coding in assembler.

Some lacking the elegance of the K&R book.
Good thing this isn't the first book about C or
it would never take off.

According to the "about" page it seems to require "CentOS Linux". Er, maybe I don't want to run that distro.
I bet that'll result in a lot of useless 999 calls.
"Can you tell my wife I'm OK", etc.

Let say you make cookies. Do you want to KILL all other cookie companies?!
