    I'll say it. This is what the movie industry needs to deal with those pesky pirates. What wooden legged, one eyed pirate is going to steal a 3d film that requires two good eyes :)

    i never actually seen a Socket 6 motherboard
    I owned Socket 7 mainboards

    I had a K6-2 with the wonderful multiplier 2x = 6x that AMD was kind enough to offer.

    I upgraded from Pentium nonMMX 100mhz to K6-2 500mhz @ 6x 83mhz 460mhz
    on a terrible board with max multiplier 3.5 or Pentium 233.

    Miles Per Carbon Output
      and Miles Per KiloWatt

    The electricity used by plugin hybrids doesn't all come from the internal combustion engine.

    If the electric Motor/engine is inefficient we've just moved the high level pollution and high fuel usage from the vehicle to another source

    If this occurs we haven't solved anything

    Why should I ride two hours each way to work on public transportation, making multiple connections when I can take a car and have a 25-30 minute commute? that only occurs when their is either poor city planning
    or you are misinformed of the best route to take to the destination

    Transport companies really do need to resolve these

    I used to take 2 hours Train versus 40minutes by car.
    However taking the less obvious choice cut travel to 45minutes
    (sometimes going the other direction is quicker than a straight line.)

    How much money does Intel Conexant broadcom Cisco etc pump into the Australian economy?
    well they take large sums from Australian and pump it into their international coffers.

    You don't even need that
    Windows Services for Unix 3.5 is free to Windows XP and 2003 users.
    Included by default in 2003 Server R2 and all Vista editions.

    WSU allows a windows machine to run perl, bash and ruby programs much the same way as
    Cygwin.
    WSU supports native mounting unix NFS shares also

    It's been tried a few times in Australia
    Cases and even a bill that would outlaw Speedometers that exceed the maximum speed limit (110 Kmp/h)
    Obviously it has failed a few times.
    I find it strange that a KC Ford Laser/ Mazda 323 speedometer reaches to 220kmp/h
    The car can't possibly reach that speed without falling to pieces

    Adobe, Real, Google will no doubt be extremely loose with their purse strings to get their Proprietary apps instead of open source alternatives installed by default. on a Linux Desktop System

    Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of ghost reader Xpdf, KPDF etc

    Google Desktop/Picasa instead of Beagle/DigiKam

    Real Media Player instead of Totem/Kaffeine

    I have yet to use sharepoint either however i do use Lotus Notes (without the Lotus Suite)

    These tools are created with the same goal

    Maintain a single server where end users use a file creator like Word or Google Docs to create a document which is replicated frequently and stored on a central server within a Database

    the idea is great as currently all staff would use a Network share to store files

    Network shares unlike collaborative tools like above

    the network share model is very limited

    *You cannot have Multiple access or collaborate updating a document.

    *It is difficult to Index documents efficiently

    *It is less centralized and scalable

    *remote access to files is inefficient and slow

    *security is easier to manage

    Tell that to my 2 x HDTV Leadtek TV Tuners that dont work in Windows at all

    Where as they were plug and play in Suse 10.1 and 10.2

    OUT of The Box

    Tell that to my Brooktree 878 Analogue TV Tuner which only had Windows 95 drivers (no 2k or XP support)

    Tell that to my Creative Audigy 2 which does not work in Windows XP correctly thanks to severe security measures Creative chose to use in their Drivers.

    Linux OpenGL support for NVIDIA and ATI are equal/or Better to that in Windows especially Vista

    but all of your points are irrelevant to a media player that boots a PC to allow you to access your Data, Web History and Music on the GO

    Windows 98 introduced brand new cutting edge levels of instability
