    ow long will it take for 25-45 gigs?
    probably not long at all, remember that we all felt that way when Zip Disks, CD's DVD's were released.


    CDs 700MB were 1 speed 150KB/s
    eventually 48x, 7,200KB/s 3 minutes to fill

    remember that DVDs were 1 speed 600KB/s
    eventually 16X 18,000KB/s 5minutes to fill

    claims place BRay and HDDVD at around 2000KB/s?
    16X 32,000KB/s is eventually Bluray is more than thinkable
    time to fill 13 Minutes.

    So it will just scale to current levels

    I dont find DVD picture quality to be crash hot anymore

    especially when viewed on a PC (image resolutions similar to HDTV)
    The Bitrate Limits of DVD Video technology causes bottle necks in some action scenes
    MPEG-2 is extremely dated , newer format can retain the same picture quality in as little as Half the Bitrate
    My HDTV Tuner has better image quality than many DVDs
    TV Series especially get hurt by the lecacy of DVD's

    100 DVD Star Trek Set anyone?
    id rather 10 DVD Set anyday


    But i do understand some people like DVD
    I still like Records over CD's
    my mate still likes VHS because he feels it looks better on his TV :S
    Another mate still prefers his N64 over any later consoles

    a. Google will give this accopunt up?
    b. Google actually has access to the Delete forever emails?
    DOJ can ask for the dna from the saliva i left on the sidewalk 3months ago (end of backup cycle) doesnt mean they'll get anything.

    c.The DOJ is asking for delete forever? there is a folder called "Deleted Items" (trash , Recycle Bin 'for the ignorant') that like all email services is the second stage of deleting Email.

    I did that got X64 to replace XP

    what a nightmare

    A motherboard box with the clear label 64bit compatible
    Access the CD bang absolutely NO windows X64 drivers included

    took 2 hours to install Audigy X64 Drivers (creative claims unsupported) you must have previous drivers installed to use this Installer.

    TV card didnt have X64 drivers
    The mainboard website had nothing much NIC and Sound

    my Canon Printer didnt have X64 drivers
    Battlefield was acting up ATI drivers were sub par
    and to top it the problem with Windows Failing to use more that 2GB ram still existed.

    X64 Fedora Suse10.0 and Mandriva 2006 all installed all the above hardware , and it used all resources far better than 32bit Linux Distros


    Windows has reset their position of,
    Best driver support available
    and Linux has taken the crown for now.

    The Pentium EE has a 169mm/sq die size, the AMD 199mm/sq.
    theres you competitive advantage.

    P EE used to have a die size of over 200mm/sq
    which plates them less processors from expensive wafers
    and overall production costs increase over AMD. 199mm
    so AMD was capable of more chips per wafer

    Intel shrinking to 169mm means they can either lower the $1000 price tag or make a larger profit per processor sold.


    P.S i cant really say how much the entire manufacture of a processor costs, however i can imagine the Athlon X2 series cost more to make that twin Core Pentium D series
    SOI, elegant dual core design
    compared to Intels twin core (2 presscott glued onto one ceramic chip.

    fool i am aware that clock isnt the only thing.
    however if you thought before speaking
    Intel P4 needs High Clock speeds to negate
    since its lack of Floating Point and IPC performance

    a future P4 at 10ghz may have negated the crappy perforance, and considerably outperformed beyond 3.2+ghz Athlon 64


    While Athlon XP outperformed P4 at lower speeds for a long time

    once p4 reached 3ghz
    that was the point p4 3hz negated the disadvantage of crappy performance.

    P.S i own 3 Athlons my purchases were based on performance not clock

    dont ever accuss me of such things ever again.
    the AMD gods will question me

    Intel Rushed 65nm to aid and lower the cost to make
    The Pentium D Die Size is huge compared to a comparable Athlon X2
    65nm also needed to possibly squeezed more out of Prescott.



    Pentium M has mostly identical fundamental functions as AMD Athlon 64/Turion
    similar Memory bandwidth, power consumption, IPC appears the same 10 IPC

    The Pentium M also has a very simple characteristic aiding lower power usage
    higher grade transistors, which adds to its price, so AMD may follow that suit in future also

    The turion at equal clock is equivilant to Pentium M
    with equal watt ph however,
    combination of the elegant well thought out Centrino platform and DDR2, lower PM systems's overall power consumption


    true Windows X64 truely is poor at utilizing AMD 64 and EMT64.

    but my linux Desktop excels with 64bit compared to 32bit.
    Vista will probably be better. and 32 bit OS can even use my 4GB is limited to 3.4 in WindowsXP and 32bit linux.


    dont forget minimum recommended RAM now is 1-1.5GB
    hypothetically mid-late this year 2-2.5GB,
    could possibly quickly jump beyond 4GB next year.



    P.S in the Windows X64 Drivers , lots of obsolete functions where found, Lecacy buses, ISA VESA and Parallel devices.
    How many P4 and AMD64 systems have ISA VESA and/or Parallel interfaces.
    as far as i can tell X64 was a patchwork rush job by MS

    its a bit of a shame really
    Netburst was expected to reach 10ghz
    with SOI , high quality transistors (such as they use in Pentium M) and 45nm Process
    Possibly could have made the Netburst start Ticking.


    Intel Producing a product very similar to AMD ( 10 IPC) pegs the X86 static again.
    no choice between the long Pentium 4 Pipe takes variety and options from the market.
    P4 for Intensive tasks and AMD games&multitasking (shortpipe more responsive at changes)(reference to single core P4 AMD64)


    now you'll have 2 Brands one possible task, the other tasks forget it you have no options

    Intel Only Rushed to use 65nm out of necessity, because it needed to breathe some more life into their Static Pentium 4

    AMD doesnt have a lot of money so isnt going to rush something if they dont need it.

    If Pentium M makes inroads on AMD they too may rush and push IBM to make 45nm Athlons early.

    I think the moral high ground isn't to get into bed with a facist country for the sake of money. But I can see why Google fans would want to spin that in a positive way. Yes, Google could have done worse. But they're still aiding and abetting the Chinese government.

    We all know what happened to the Netscape Killer it became rundown and unsupported.
    basically i wouldnt trust sparkle since if it becomes standard in a few years it will have poor support and absolutely no significant upgrades from MS
    they plain
    wouldnt care
    well until FireFly comes along and steals a chunk of market share.

    on top of which cannot legally be used on portable devices

    I use Linux and LibDVDcss because i have to.
    Libdvdcss2 allow you to stream the DVD (basically temporary copy it as you watch it.
    thats copying but does that mean i'm stealing a second copy from walmart?

    why the hell would i want 2 copies of 1 movie.

    Given that the MPAA's intent isn't financial gain and that the whole situation may rise above the level of trading barbs through the media into legal action, making a copy may be justified.
    it will be interesting to see if that holds up
    since the majority of people who download movies do so without intent to gain financially.


    MPAA had no reason to copy a movie to review it.
    Most reviewers dont get a personal copy of a movie to watch they have to go to the cinema along with everyone else.

    Great publicity has sprung from lawsuits against reviewers that released DVDscr and SCReeners by Awards reviewers

    MPAA at the end of the day are reviewers plain and simple they watch the film and give it a grading

    Microsoft's new Vista operating systems and Office suite, because both should include massive 64-bit enhancements. And who wants to be stuck with a notebook twelve months from now that can't handle 64-bit programs?

    They could have improved P3 by doing like AMD add Dual Data Rate bus or the quadpumpedthey had available.
    Alone the last Pentium 3 Tualatin was a great chip very competitive to Athlon but they scraped it to make way for P4 yuk!!

    if they kept netburst on ice till .65nm or .45nm
    now basically to release it
    it may have been more successful and reached the target they aimed at 10ghz by 2007
    which would perform considerably well despite smaller IPC the higher clock would compensate

    couple years ago the major backbone line out of australia was cut

    a ship or something hit it.

    during that week average speeds with any carrier to overseas servers averaged 28k a second

    it was horrible.

    I have a duron 1ghz
    near 5 years old morgan core


    I did have an Athlon XP 1700+ running @1.66mhz

    it ran extremely cool compared to comparable Pentium 4's ive seen
    but the XP died at a 600mhz over clock
    (2.1ghz) it ran for hours but once i shut it down in never booted up again.

    i now have an Athlon 64 X2
    setting it up, the fan is just so quiet i couldnt telling if it was even running or not


    note it chews through folding project 5x as fast as my old XP
