i think it's hilarious that your post got modded up, when you responded without any valid point, and told me to kill myself.
i guess we know they're evil, because they're so evil that they would have risked national security for political purposes makes perfect sense...
i think anyone with half a brain would actually care to hear some facts before they made any decisions instead of just jumping on the bandwagon and acting like it's general knowledge just because it makes you feel better to say that
oh, and i don't think you should kill yourself... i value human life
i'm sure this will get ignored, or modded down at best...
but how is everyone so sure that "they LIED about EVERY threat that Iraq and Saddam Hussein posed"???
do you have access to the highly classified intelligence that they received?? do you have access to classified information about what they found? tell me, what are the exact lies, and how do you know they were lies??? and please don't just say "it's general knowledge" or "where are the WMDs?"
if they received incorrect intelligence, that doesn't mean they lied. the truth is we don't know, because none of us have access to that information, but if we don't like war i guess it sure makes us feel a lot better to put very evil sounding words in all CAPS and blame someone we don't like
I've been described as the guy who "turns email into an instant-messaging system." I just wish Slashdot comment reply notification emails were sent out as they happened, instead of in batches every five minutes.
That's funny, I'm known as the guy who turns an instant-messaging system into snail mail because I forget to put up an away message and it confuses people. I actually do both of those things... never realized how ridiculous I am until just now...
this would be one thing for computer labs or classroom computers, but the dorm room acts as your home in college, and the college network is your isp. if my isp told me i couldn't go to myspace (or any site at all) because they couldn't handle the bandwidth, i would be up in arms and immediately switch isps. why is this any different in a college dorm?
also, two weeks ago when some college banned facebook everyone said it was a violation of their rights, but now they go and blame bandwidth and nobody seems concerned???
I spend most of my time on the computer lying in bed with my laptop sitting on my chest. I think cancer will be more of a problem for me than my RPI, but I'm sure my "posture" is about as bad as it could get.
hopefully with open source products, however, patches will be available much more quickly since anyone could write the patch. in fact, since people tend to be competitive in nature, there will probably be people out there dying for things like this to happen so they can be the l337 programmer to fix it.
When I was in 7th grade (9 years ago... wow), a friend and I had prank called a girl a couple times at home (just called and hung up, didn't say anything). So they called the cops, and the cops told us to stop and we did. The next day we were called down to the principal's office and suspended for a week. I thought it was ridiculous since it had absolutely NOTHING to do with school, but there wasn't much I could do.
a friend of mine works at geek squad, and apparently they have some "geek squad only" forum that has tons of pirated software on it. i don't know it to be true for sure, but that's what he tells me.
"similar to Google's 'Did you mean?'" = WRONG

This feature does not work like google's "Did you mean" feature. I think it is much less useful. It only suggests based on the spelling you have typed in, so it is essentially just an autocomplete feature that includes what everyone else has typed in. If you type in a word and spell it wrong, it will not have any suggestions for you, except to visit web sites that have also spelled the word wrong. If google could have it work the way the "did you mean?" feature does it would be much more useful. I have found that it is right about what I meant 90% of the time.
Monoprice has tablets starting at around $17. I have the $36 8" x 6" one and it works as well as the $200+ Wacom tablets in my experience. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10841

it wouldn't "brick" the ipod, it just wouldn't allow you to charge it with that computer

In what way did it feel semi-automatic???
"following the same process than google summer of code" ????

does this affect what videos they can have in terms of copyrights?
agreed... but reviewing a patch should surely be quicker than writing it themselves.

I'll slash-forward
