"There's a reason the Wii is selling so well... People don't want something with internet..."
[Pedantic mode on]
The Wii is actually designed to make use of an internet connection, for online gaming, shopping for downloadable games, sharing Miis, obtaining the latest news and weather updates, and for the Opera-powered "Internet Channel" web browser. Internet capability is actually a selling-point on one of Nintendo's in-store promotional videos. "The Wii will revolutionize the relationship between your home, the TV, and the Internet."
In general I agree with the point you were making, but you were a tad off with that one detail.
"MTV did have one in the arcade prior to Rock Band. But it just had no "game" feel to it from my understanding."
Indeed, MTV's Drumscape was rather lacking in pretty much anything I could think of that would qualify it as a game. It had a variety of songs, and it gave you a drum set you could mess around with while listening to the songs, but a) the songs' original drum tracks were completely intact (still playing even if you're just sitting there, idle), b) the game did absolutely nothing to indicate what you should be doing in order to mimic said drum tracks, and c) it had no form of scoring. All it did was take your money, and let you play with some toy drums while listening to a song.
I agree with you about the ratings system. That's about the sort of system the RSAC used, and I much preferred it over the ESRB's. Actually told you what you were getting into, instead of trying to assign it to a generalized age-group.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a googol == 10^100? I think you're about three short.
