Yes and it's ridiculous at an elementary school level. Have the French not figured out how to end the call by hanging up and then phone emergency services, exactly like regular POTS? The same applies for E.S. to break into a phone call forcing a disconnect and then call back.
It's all about money, greed and stupidity.

No, screw them. Phones are bad, clunky and OLD! Their business model is tired. The phone companies should be regulated till their stockholders give up, then be absorbed by newer technologies with better ideas. If this is the best the French can do, Fire them and replace them with Germans.

The secret, good ol' fly will share with you is; keep it small, specialize, shun investors and if your product is worthy you will live like a king. Complete control is impossible on a large scale and only breeds asshats dropping resume' on your desk reeking from useless degrees, boring accomplishments and assbackward statistical management techniques that wouldn't even appeal to a $cientologist with a warehouse of half built gizmosensors.
Small house craftmanship is the way to live and work if you want the American dream. You can keep your deadlines, heart attacks and useless ranks of management siphoning your value and devaluing your product. I will also reiterate "FUCK INVESTORS", if they really wanted to make money, they would do what you are doing and put their money into themselves. If they can't do it at that point, they didn't DESERVE any money because they can't HANDLE money and would've only contributed to the problems of the world caused by themselves anyway. Darwin and Bob were both right about Normals; "survival of the fittest" and " if you act like a dumbass, they'll treat you as an equal".
