Just about every site I create is made as accessible as possible - especially those offering services / goods. If you're offering something, especially in a niche market, then if your site is the one that blind / visually impaired users can use then you'll be the one selling your stuff.
Obviously some people want flashy (or flash:| ) sites but I try to dissuade them unless there's a good reason for it.
Not saying there ain't a place for fanciness but lots of sites seem to be design led rather than action / results led.
Dammit - that last bit looks like a bit of a rant, but sod it - it's staying in;)
But the title says Re:Cool, it's like Intel Upgrade Service for a bra and doesn't actually mention genes. I'd forgotten WTF the entire thread was about anyway and presumed Intel had somehow invented an upgrade so bras could have more mammary installed.;)
Really ? When are we going to hit saturation point, there are loads of them all doing roughly the same thing. Unless it does something radically different what does it (or any of the 'smaller' networking site) hope to acheive ?
I'm not surprised people are being run over due to not knowing WTF is going on around them - I very often see people walk out into the road with no clue as to traffic.
The other week friends and I were sat outside the pub at about twilight and this guy cycles past with iPod buds in, no lights, eating chips (fries) with both hands - practically no control over the bicycle at all. A proper "accident waiting to happen".
Legislation won't make any difference; I think people are just turning stupid.
IIRC it used to be illegal in the UK not to grow hemp. This was back in the days of sailing ships etc. Farmers had to set aside a certain area for hemp cultivation.
At a rough guess some lawyers are going to make a load of money out of this. So regardless of the final outcome there will be some winners: That's the way it usually works.
You make a good point. Hope they have their data seriously checked for correctness before committing to the database. There could be a whole bunch of "Little Bobby Tables" out there trying stuff out.
