There's some interesting irony at work here with regards to the whole p2p issue. Kind of makes it seem like the RIAA/MPAA are fighting an element of human nature.
Yes, definitely. I use wikipedia for things that I actually want accurate information for. Wikipedia isn't perfect but it'll get you good results without you having to sift through links.
P.S. Firefox haas a built in Wikipedia search tool. If you do "wp " in the address bar it'll try to match it. I love it.
I believe the Mythbusters disproved this; their findings showed that a magstripe card would have to be subjected to extremely strong magnetic fields to be damaged.
The Internet isn't going away unless we have some major power chrisis or something. People will always find a way to continue this now that we've reached the point-of-no-return, possibly even giving rise to a new hodge-podged network made without aid from corporations. Open source has proved that technology can manifest itself outside of corporate settings and that's why we'll always have the internet. We can't live without it anymore, so we will continue it ourselves if we must.
That's human nature for you. A guy could buy a new toaster during a great sale for $20 and be perfectly happy with it, but if he finds out his friend Bob down the street paid only $15 he'll feel ripped off. He may have gotten a good deal on the toaster, but just the fact that somebody got the same thing for less money makes him feel like he was at a loss. Similarily the RIAA may sell $40 million worth of music, and they have an idea of what's going on with the piracy, so they estimate that an equivalent of %50 of their sales is downloaded; if there's demand, it will have people buying and downloading. A RIAA executive could look at it and say "We sold $40 million, and around $20 million worth was probably downloaded." He should feel good about the sales, but he would still think "If it wasn't for these damn kids and their world wide web mischief we could be making $60 million!" Even if that's not necessarily true, he'd feel like he actually lost something, even though there were great sales figures.
Dell's offer also comes with a 4-port USB hub and a 9-in-2 card reader.
Apple's display has 2 firewire ports and 2 USB ports.
A lot of people have said Dell is inflating their monitor's specs since both monitors use the same LCD panel.
Either way saving $300 over some silver plastic is a good deal.
I have a gaming clan called JS that is sort of based around this concept of not playing the game the way it was intended to be played. We're only for FPS games. We commit mass suicides and "dance" even if people get pissed off. We aren't really trying to ruin the game, we just like having fun. Turns out many other people share our joy in misbehaving, we already have had several servers and a ton of members. We aren't mean like the no-famos myg0t clan, but we don't always play the game. It's not like we exclusively don't play it right, we also have active competitive playing and game modding. It's just that people like to see what they can do to have a good time within the game world.
That's the best one i've seen, it's a shame it went unnoticed.
Is it a mere coincidence that Windows is so prone to breaking?

Oh, the humanity!
You can save a lot on your heating bill just by running an intel.

I believe you just disproved intelligent design.

The elevator might be a different story though.
The only logical conclusions are: a) the editors don't get out much and have lost touch with what's considered new and exciting tech...
The problem is more likely that they get out too much.
I'm 8 years old and playing on xbox live right now screaming at my mom for some chocolate milk You see, gaming is the one place where young and old can come together to have fun in a mature and relaxing way.

And, quite frankly, I wanted to beat the shit out of the monitor after playing it for a few minutes.
Okay you got me there, but you still save $300!
His head is much smaller in person.
