And then you dropped two of them on top of Japan. Which is also irrelevant?
NOTHING from the past is irrelevant, you learn from history or are bound to repeat it. And I rather not have you guys repeat that dark part of history.
"You forgot the step where you added the magic pixie dust to power the induction points"
What do you think powers the street lights and buildings right next to the road? And the source of that power is not relevant to this discussion.
Also induction might be inefficient but so is charging a battery.
Electricity, generated by coal/oil/gas 85% of the time. I don't care how you get the power there. What you should care about is how you get the power, and how efficient you get it there. Because that's how you effect the environment.
"Also, how do you charge the people for charging?"
Who cares? I'm talking about the technology , now how beaurocrats will charge for its use.
Charging for use has little to do with getting money for it. It's about getting money to pay for it, and reducing abuse. Because high abuse effects the environment.
"And cutting loops in roads make the roads wear out faster. Also the induction loops will break because roads expand and contract due to heat/cold and cars breaking on them."
What , like all those traffic light detection loops in the roads? Yeah , I really noticed a huge breakup of roads around those.
Yes, and those effect road quality. And they break. (I work with these things so I might know a thing about loops in the road) For power transfer you would need much much thicker loops then they use for detection, effecting the road quality even more.
You forgot the step where you added the magic pixie dust to power the induction points. Power still has to come from somewhere, and induction power transfer has a huge loss. Electric cars are only good for the environment when you are more efficient at making and transmitting the power then a car engine. As a large part of the world electricity is still generated by fossil fuels. Also, oil is not just used for gas, it's also used to make tons and tons of other products.
Also, how do you charge the people for charging? Make it free, or fixed fee and people will abuse it.
And cutting loops in roads make the roads wear out faster. Also the induction loops will break because roads expand and contract due to heat/cold and cars breaking on them.
I never heard of it, but something different it is. Innovative? It's just a version of "The Incredible Machine". But, it's better then the yearly Fifa:-) maybe they'll learn...
Chrome and Firefox are only starting to support WebGL. I didn't get it WebGL content working in Linux. And the support is only in the beta versions or requires special instructions.

I don't see HalfLife2, or DeadSpace2 as a horror game. They just try to shock you. If you want a true horror game, try amnesia, http://www.amnesiagame.com/ Play it at night, in the settings they recommend (lights off, no distracting sounds, headphones)
I stopped playing the first time after 1 hour and 20 minutes, because I was just to freaked out.
Testing is just hard. Even with a perfect plan, and a perfect execution you're still going to miss things.
I just spend 2 weeks finding a 6 year old bug, which only showed itself when the temperature of our product is somewhere at -5C, and then only on 75% of the total devices. Devices where tested at low as -40C, but those where lucky and kept working correctly, so nobody noticed before. Even after I found it I spend a week looking at the code to find what's really wrong.
Have you tried uninstalling crapware from an HP laptop?
I have an HP laptop, and I uninstalled all the crapware on day 1. It took (no kidding) 1.5 hour to uninstall "HP Help Documentation". My 'fresh' new laptop spend well over 4 hours uninstalling stuff. In retrospect I should have done a wipe and reinstall.
The problem with this is, once people have the code, stealing the assets is easier. Sure without the source you can make 1:1 copies of the assets, but you cannot remove the 'origin' then. And you cannot steal single assets then.
I'm currently in the process of building a freeware game with someone. The game will be free, but we'll also be selling a high quality soundtrack (with bonus tracks) from the game. If people could rip the music from the game the selling of the soundtrack will be a lot tougher. I'm porting the game to a lot of different platforms myself, so I see no benefit in going open source.
How long 'til we are required to use things like one-time credit cards, or maybe a single-use code from my Yubikey, or something else, for online purchases? Either that or cancel & change your credit card number every six months.
It works very simple, you only authorize a single payment. They could scam you out of a single payment but that's it. I exclusively buy online at shops that support iDEAL. And that list is growing fast, Steam also supports iDEAL for half a year now, and Blizzard accepts it as payment method. The whole credit card setup is so stone-aged compared to this.
Also note that I don't need to setup a different account or anything else. Because I have an account at one of the banks supporting iDEAL. It requires the same 2 factor authentication as I use for online banking. So it all feels familiar.
Oh, yes. I agree that gamewise shutting down glider is better. But if it was really in their right to do so.
Search for a program called "OpenKore" which is a bot for another MMO, which is open source and does development trough sourceforge. They have never been shut down.
Blizzard was an ass towards everyone not playing their games as they intended it long before that. Bnetd being the well know example of that one. Glider being another. But there are more examples out there.
Blizzard is quite simple to follow. They make wonderful games, they take their time to make them. They'll make a shitload of money with them. But if you are a tinkerer, then stay away from them. They simply do not tolerate tinkering out of the sandbox.
Small note, zip does not create a directory tree, it stores filenames with paths. Which you can seek and decompress individually, but you will have to read all the filenames to find the file you are looking for.

From Europe with love.
Latency of both USB and PS/2 is well below a fraction of human reaction time. So it doesn't matter at all. No myth, just hype.
Yes, but any model plane that size doesn't require intervention from software to keep it under control.

EA does not do innovation. Look at the smaller developers. SuperMeatBoy, Amnesia and Magicka are my top games right now.
50FPS on FF 3.6.15 on linux. Guess it's limited to 50FPS, but it's not a smooth animation on linux.
The researcher who was going to go after Chrome never showed up...
So... google has the best assassins?

My laptop does not have a CD drive, so, what's the plan then? (I did install linux as 2nd boot option for when windows goes belly up)
There is nothing you can do about it, so don't worry about it.

So if they really HAD done fusion, they would have radioactively contaminated their whole building.
Don't worry about this. With these claims they might as well develop superpowers because of that.

There are alternatives. For The Netherlands we have iDEAL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDEAL
