    Although all of this ultimately just hurts Apple. It drives people to buy newer PCs and newer copies of Windows. It drives sales to "the enemy".

    Or people iBuy a shiny new iMac or iBook. Or iSomething, to go with the iCloud.

    You do understand that if you drive in the same direction in The Netherlands that there is a 90% chance that you left the country? Saying that something is "only" 3 hours away makes it long distance for the dutch.

    Besides, you can't transfer most retail games to Steam unless they're Valve's own games (+ a small list of exceptions that allow it)

    That's up to the creators of the game I think. Spacechem (indie game) can be activated on steam if you bought it otherwise.

    Maybe this lawsuit will require them to come forward with the steps they *did* take. Up until now, it's largely been speculation. If they locked the door but left open a window, I want to know. And I want to know how open that window was left.

    For starters, they transmitted CC numbers in plain text over the Internet.

    I think, just pure speculation, that they stored all the details in a single database, and had an SQL Injection possibility somewhere.

    Epic didn't start out with that, the 'free' unreal 2 engine had a very explicit "You shall NOT create games!" in the license. The basic commercial engine license was 150k back then.

    No hate for the unreal engine, I love it, I learned a lot from it. But just wanted to point that out.

    UnrealTournament was the first game with official MOD support. But people where modding quake long before that, and doom before that, and I don't know what before that but I can assure you, if the first game you encounter with MODs is Fallout 3, then you where missing out on a lot!

    I enjoyed the Doom roguelike much more then nethack, it's easier to play (less options/buttons) but still a very good game.

    Why do you think a Car is expensive? Because it's bug-free. Same for planes, medical equipment, and just about anything dealing with safety. But phones, nooooo, you want cheap cheap cheap and features features features.

    Actually if Titan has a methane ocean under the surface, it would really fill the role as out fill up station. Now we take the methane and extract hydrogen to fuel our ships?

    Methane itself is a fuel already, but you need oxygen to burn it, same with hydrogen.
    Saturn itself is 96% H2. Wouldn't that be a better source for your hydrogen?

    Anyhow, Earth seems to be the only real source of oxygen. More then enough hydrogen to be found everywhere, seems oxygen is the inter-planet fuel.

    OK, I will bite.

    My intention was to get a real answer. Not to provoke you... well, in to provoking you to give reasons why multiple windows is better.

    You give some good and valid points, but most of it comes down to:
    -Having multiple monitors makes this work better.
    -Having a better window manager with more options.

    Which I both don't have. Still, thanks for your honest and useful answer.

    I'm a linux user, I'm running Ubuntu, with gnome. I'm a heavy user of multiple desktops. I spawn terminals like crazy. People are confused when they see me work, and I used to have a beard.

    And I still think the GIMP multi window interface is retarded. I simply don't understand the need to look past the floating windows to see the stuff behind it (being your desktop of what else), it's messy and distracting.

    But please enlighten one, explain to us lesser and simple minded folk how GIMP with with the floating multiple windows is so much better.

    My dad "accidentally" dropped his phone into a cup of coffee, because it kept disconnecting calls and turning itself off without reason. IT looked at it a few times for him, but they couldn't replace it because "it was still working"

    After this he got a shiny new one, with worked perfectly.

    We don't need depth perception for games and stuff. We need this.

    I fondly remember Doom and Duke3D, and all the times that I stood up just to look down into my monitor to see how deep a pit was only to break the illusion of 3D.

    Which is why I started to buy indie games. Steam has a huge selection of them, and they are more around 1$ per hour of gameplay. If they have DRM then it's only a key or something (which steam provides automatically)

    And if you are cheap, wait for the Christmas sales on steam.

    Games I really enjoyed the last half year:
    -Super meat boy
    -Revenge of the titans
    -Amnesia
    -The void (one of the weirdest games I played)
    -Starcraft 2

    A line in the manual is not a legal binding contract. And in many counties it's legal to backup your media (video/audio/games) for personal use. However, downloading the game/rom/music because you have the original is not legal. You need to copy/dump/burn it yourself.

    The key was obfuscated in the ROM. So having just the ROM data wasn't enough.

    Better, take 2 glasses, remove left eye from one, insert into right eye from other. You can make two 2D classes which look perfectly normal!

    FYI, they only ban people that cheat (or run modifications on games while they play online) they don't ban you from online play for just having homebrew channel installed (for example) or having a modchip installed.
