    What a way to be a close-minded ass. While I am sure that rap may not compare to your own musical taste, some of the best messages in "popular music" can only be found within the rap/hip-hop scene.

    Do you also hate poetry? It's much the same thing. You have to listen rather closely to grab the literary devices that go into it, and certain styles of rap (particularly syllable matching) are absolutely amazing.

    The fifth amendment protects you from having to plead against yourself in a court of law. It has no bearing on anything that you have recorded and stored.

    Eg. you can't use the 5th amednment to block a letter or diary entry from entering into a trial.

    That is not a decision which the government should have a right to enforce. If I, as a parent, deem that my 9 year old son or daughter is mature enough to experience that content, then it is my decision to make.

    In a perfect society, this would be an equitable solution to the problem. However, in present society, it is far too large of a request to ask a parent to be responsible for their children.

    Speaking from the US:

    I'm not sure about the non-activated bit, but all cellphones in the US are required to be equipped with GPS systems (or be able to triangulate using the cell towers). There is no way to disable the GPS system when making a 911 call.

    On my phone, at least, I have the option of turning it on for all calls, or just 911.

    And as for Star Wars vs. Star trek... it depends on who is fighting whom. For insance: Worf VS the entire realm of storm troopers: Worf wins. Riker VS Solo: Riker Wins. Q VS Yoda: Q Wins. The Borg VS The Jedi Alliance: Borg Wins.

    What Am I saying... Star Trek kicks Star Wars' ass any day ;)

    Innovation? If by innovation you mean both leading desktops copying Microsoft's desktop interface, then sure its really innovative... but never say Microsoft isn't innovative.

    Maybe it's just me, but I didn't see him say anything about MS... albeit you did rather nicely.

    Also, neither Gnome nor KDE copy Microsoft's desktop. (Albeit it is definitely possible with KDE to do so).

    I'll probably get marked as flamebait, but...

    When one is informed about the topic, one can post without such disclaimers. It is far more enlightening to discuss than to flame. ;)
