To tell the truth I have never used Exposé personally. I have only seen videos and images, but I do think it's a good idea. Actually I haven't really used a Mac in a while.
From the latest features and updates, Macs look like developer paradise to me.:P
I agree. When I looked at the pictures I started laughing 'cause it looks so cool! After watching the video I have to say that this is about the coolest thing I have ever seen. I want one!
Exposé actually shows the windows, not small previews. It organizes and resizes them on the screen temporarily so you can see all the windows and their content.
I'm going to start coding just as the standards say. I'm not even going to test it in any browser. If it doesn't look like I intended it than it's the browser's fault.
Well when you say stamping on pads or riding trains, it doesn't sound fun at all. That'd be like me saying WTF is the fun in pushing buttons. There's more to it than that.
No, they are hashed. But really, any site that hashes their passwords with at least MD5 is pretty safe. My password is sixteen characters long, so the chance of it being cracked is very near zero.
I try not to visit sites that store passwords as plain text somewhere.
"A poll conducted by the group backing the Blu-ray next-generation DVD standard shows that the technology is supported by a majority of consumers, putting rival HD DVD on the defensive."
It's fairly obvious that they skewed the questions towards themselves. There's no way they were unbiased about it.
It would be very helpful with switching between languages or keyboard layouts, but I think e-ink would be better suited for this since you wouldn't change it much anyway.
I bought HL2 Collector's Edition (which I think was a waste of money) and it wouldn't let me install HL2 without the DVD. The problem was that I didn't have a DVD drive. I looked all over the package and website and there was nothing that said it required a DVD drive. So I had to borrow one and after that it just started installing from the internet, not the DVD. HA.
I hope you realize the grandparent post is a joke, joking about its parent.
Yes, it's not the K that makes a difference. :P
Whenever I see kb in a program, I always wonder if it's kilobits or if the author thinks it means kilobytes. Same with KB for that matter.

How do you post something from December 14, 2003, and get away with calling it news for nerds?
Almost anything is frontpage material. It doesn't even have to be news.
XFCE and the others are window managers. They're similar to KDE and GNOME but a little different. None of them "use" KDE.
XFCE is very similar to GNOME but runs faster and doesn't have the bloat.
It's now being redirected to a static page.
raitchison posted a link to the unmolested version above.
Did the wiki vandal get some kind of inner pleasure out of defacing a public resource or what?
Changing the entire page to this:
WILLY ON WHEELS!
World famous Wiki vandal!
pwned
is the kind of thing that makes people hate Slashdot.
What's to stop a keylogger? It wouldn't be that hard to find the root password then.

Drupal hashes passwords. Of course SpreadFirefox might have changed that part, but why the hell would they?

"Microsoft claims that 90% of email on the internet is spam."
My Gmail account is 90% of the internet.

Yeah, most ATMs block incoming emails.
Putting goatse in your code would be security through obscenity. >_

IMO security through obscurity is not the way to go.
AFAIK my old school was going to invite him to a gala for some Montessori thing. He had Montessori education or something. I'm not really sure.
:P
If it happens I'll be sure to interview him.
That's cool that you'd let visitors you don't even know in your house. :) Nice people.

Indeed those are the current requirements to run Windows Longhorn.
