Surely the submission approval process is not so strained that three sentences are too much to proofread.
The sentence is not a question, and the noun phrase is plural, though, in this case I might accept it as singular, seeing the three sentences being proofread as a group, rather than individually.
Epic fail with the title? A "till" is a cash register, something you put money into. Do they mean 'til, short for until.
Til(l) was the original form of the word. The redundant prefix un(d) was added later, and nowadays people mistake till as a shortened version of until, which gives 'til. So, there's nothing wrong with the headline.
I use the serial comma; however, in some cases the serial comma still leaves things unclear.
Take for example: "To my mom, Ayn Rand, and God." In that sentence, it may appear that "Ayn Rand" were set off by commas to function as a non-restrictive appositive, as though one were writing "To my mom (Ayn Rand) and God."
No, a comma there in that case would make it appear that "800-year-old demigod" were a non-restrictive appositive.
As in: "[...] Nelson Mandela, an 800-year-old demigod, and a dildo collector." would seem like: "[...] Nelson Mandela (an 800-year-old demigod) and a dildo collector."
I pretty much always use serial commas, but in cases like that, it doesn't help.
Polling at intervals is unnecessary and wasteful. Long polling is a better way to do this, and the only downside is that the server must maintain the connection till data is available.
This isn't news anyway. Websites like this have been around for a while. There are a few others I've seen, but I can't remember their names.
I've never complained about what makes it to the front page on Slashdot, but really, the only thing connecting this to Slashdot's genre (news for nerds, stuff that matters) is that it has something to do with email.
Loading times for games on CD were very long in the mid-1990s, sometimes trying the patience of the player. [...] In contrast, the access time for ROM chips in cartridges was nearly instantaneous, with nary a loading screen to be found. It made for a better user experience up-front, but ultimately that feature alone wasn't worth the price of admission.
Unfortunate, as long load times is one of the things that really irked me with the PlayStation.
They state that game publishes were reluctant to invest in cartridges, as CDs were less risky and had higher profit margins, but if the focus had been on making good games that people want to play rather than trying to weigh risks and balance game quality with profitability, they really shouldn't have had to worry about that.
Nevertheless, there were a few good N64 games and couple of great ones. Cartridges weren't a complete mistake.
I think you are confusing him with somebody who gives a shit.
Everybody on here spews bullshit about socialism, capitalism, free markets, etc. Arguing actual facts on here is irrelevant when we must debate the definitions of terms that have multiple meanings in various contexts.
You can autohide the ribbon, so a better analogy would be a drawer within the mechanic's reach that has all his most often used tools conveniently organized. I'm not sure what commands scattered around menus and loosely organized toolbars would be analagous to, except maybe a messy workshop with badly labelled drawers.
Yet it's still cheaper than sending a few text messages to your friends.
I might go with this:

Do English you know to speak it.

What's the difference?
I run Oblivion with a bunch of mods on a 1.67 GHz Athlon XP and a Radeon 9550. What's lowly about them when they run things just fine?

Because the device only accepts firmware with the proper digital signature? At least, that's how TiVo did it.
You're a circuit breaker?

Oh, sure, another website that requires Flash to function! I shouldn't need Flash just to delete my Flash cookies!</sarcasm>

Don't ever go to TV Tropes.

But did you see the picture on page 3? How many fingers does that hand have? Are those even fingers?
I like that "blogal" is also an anagram of "global".

Yeah, those meth addicts sure like their antivirus software.
