Very sad indeed...I loved the original star trek. Did anyone else spot the part of the article that said he had another kid at 80...seems a little late. Back on topic though, I'll hold my judgement on this mod till I see it in action. I could electrical tape a logitech mouse to my cat and have the first "Cat and Mouse" mod but I think people would appreciate some proof.;)
Something is wrong with you if you're killing innocent people on purpose, doing it and authorizing it are equally as bad. Sure the USA might have had some issues killing innocents by accident but you don't see us beheading people do you?
How long ago Kazaa passed this mark and if any information was collected from it. I also wonder if information was published about said person and their music taste on a major news site.;)
Majority Of Customers Prefer FX-57

bonch writes "A poll shows FX-57's as the preferred choice, as conducted by Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates. Customers were given a side-by-side comparison of Pentium Pro's and FX-57's. The results were that 58 percent of the 1,200 polled chose the FX-57, and 26 percent were undecided. Generally speaking, the Pentium Pro is preferred by those seeking to reduce manufacturing costs while FX-57's is preferred by those more interested in features and speed." Alienware's Aurora is to use the FX-57.
All the tech people at my high school were quite scared of me...to be honest none of them really knew all that much so I spent most of my school day penetrating school security on my laptop while they scrambled to figure out where this roguePC on the network could be. A week before I dropped out of school I printed out all the grades a week before the report cards were issued on the printer in the library where everyone could get to them. But then again, I did the same thing on the school monitored desktops...only took about 5-10 minutes of tinkering to disable security...then it was on to the teachers computer where the files were shared and the security was nonexistant...ahhhh the good times:)
School laptops, or even personal ones probably won't increase this type of behavior significantly.
Admittedly I would not have bought the game unless I knew I could play it offline as well. I don't consider it piracy if I already own a copy...but that's just me. The offline copy doesn't even require steam to be installed. It simply starts HL2 from an executable.
Not trying to go offtopic but I'll bite...there has been a single player version not requiring an internet connection to play available for piracy since a couple days after HL2 came out...I won't say the name or any sources where you can get it, but given the publicity it got I find it surprising that everyone is complaining about how you can't play it offline. Personally, I bought a retail copy where I work, then downloaded the offline copy to play when I'm at my cousins house with my computer and don't have an internet connection. True, I can't play counterstrike offline, but botmatches aren't all that great anyways. Just my 2 cents...
I totally agree...as much as it sucked when it was first released I found that after all the patches it was equivalent or better than windows 98. It incorporated a few new features that I liked (No drivers needed for flashdrives and the like...), and some that I didn't (system restore? did that actually work for anyone?). All in all I'd say it was a decent step between windows 2000 and windows 98.
"Plug a cellular-network card into the book-size open-source-based device, and voil"
So we need to obtain some of this "voil" for this configuration to work? What is the availability and pricing on this substance? ^_~
I can't help but wonder how well this would work if it rained during your whole weekend camping trip? Since that would seem like the time you'd want to use it.;)
Just out of curiosity...would I be able to obtain one of these units for my motorcycle? And if I could would the manual overides still work for me? (No one seems to see bikes on the highway) I would love to see how they would implement this given the space limitations...
Well I suppose if it costs a bit more to buy a paper you could just get one every week and save some cash...you would only get the important stories but it would be better than nothing.
Last I checked electricity wasn't free either, for the cost of sitting in the living room watching TV all day you could probably afford a 50 cent paper.
Seems to me the reason there isn't a whole lot of market for a linux enabled pre-built is that people who use linux tend to build things themselves...just a thought...
Why not use the "You may be infected" page to host a free antivirus (avast or the like) and anti spyware (adaware home?) along with some sort of online port scan to help identify the bugs on your system?

I understand your point completely :) I personally don't mind it so much but I could see how others might.

Indeed, I have to admit I find the logo a bit strange...it looks more like some crazy new form of anime than a fox.

Flaimbait!? Joke :(
These same "everyone" people also supported Hitler, Stalin, and John Stamos...are you claiming to support such Nazi mail propoganda? Drinking is bad!
Brilliant summary of the situation at hand!
Everyone knows that closed source software is far more efficient and secure! No seriously! ;)
Took long enough...now for the Monkey Island games...

or Emerge nvidia-kernel if you use gentoo ;)
Oh and opengl-update nvidia

I for one welcome our new gamma ray emitting overlords!
I welcome our new robotically enhanced cyborg monkey masters...
