We know that these devices aren't the most reliable given the reports of touch disease, not too surprising that they would be experiencing other issues.
Consider as someone outside Russia, your local server couldn't have a near copy of the data about a Russian which cause a delay and lacks redundancy. Any search would need to be orchestrated globally via servers in every country. And due to storage requirements none of it can be cached.
That said, this is only an issue for services like Facebook & LinkedIn whose sole purpose is to disseminate the information they hold about you. Its an entirely appropriate restriction for medical information, financial, etc.
Much like adblock it's still up to the end user if they choose to use a tool that does it. The exception would be if and only if this 3rd party acted as a middle man.
What's next, block Firefox because you don't like the way they render your page?
Are you referring to the AT Games Sega device? If so its a bad emulator (sound distortion and lag iirc) not real hardware. Though it isn't really clear whether the TecToy device will also use original chips or something else.
While most of us on Slashdot can probably deal with some money missing temporarily there are definitely people out there for whom this would be a big problem.
I think most users would be interested in being able to swap batteries, at least if they still even offered them for sale at a reasonable price 2-3 years into the device. The others, including SD cards the majority of users won't care about.
Releasing a USB-C to Lightning cable is actually worse than a dongle since then you'd need multiple lightning cables depending on what you might be near when you need to charge your device. Do you really want to get a new wall adapter, & car charger? What if you're at a friends place or a bar? What will they have available?
Or if you set down on a non flat surface it pops out. I've also generally found that the magsafe connectors regularly attach in a non-charging mode and notoriously Apple power cables fray & crack which never happens with any other PC manufacturer.
Given he's responding in a thread about Apple's history with USB the fact that firewire was a standard isn't exactly different. Though with firewire it was a case of them backing a technological dead-end much like thunderbolt.
USB was already happening, and would have happened regardless of the imac's tiny marketshare. The reality is that only real effect it had was made imac owners pay for overpriced accessories.
Ah, but did they actually communicate with each other about the decisions in advance? Its fine for no one to decide to buy the only question is whether they talked about it beforehand.
Its more than that actually, shingles should have a batch number on them and color can vary quite a bit between batches. If you end up with multiple batches you're supposed to mix them gradually so when you stand back on the street it isn't obvious.
Depends on how widespread it seems to be really, if there are relatively few instances then it might make sense to not publish it make the entire world aware of it.
Teenagers and students, lots of cash to spend on advertisers products...

Don't forget Indian Times or whatever it is...
It's actually a bit odd there isn't a reasonable hard limit.

So why don't we ever hear about the effect of LCD TVs on sleep? Surely a 60" TV blazing at you for hours is worse than a 6" screen.
If you were talking about Twitter trending topics you'd be right, but Google is used universally by everyone to try to find information.

Seems like I'll be writing to the CBC Ombudsman after work as well as the supervising minister...

I don't recall the Democrats praising Comey, merely that the FBI had investigated and found no criminal behaviour.

Current password? Or a password reset?

Why wouldn't they simply hardwire everything? I'm sure the tank already has a sophisticated network of electronics.

Live streams are pretty different than a pre-recorded blob.
I'm not sure I want the people watching it with more time on their hands, imagine the damage they could do to the world!
