Also, you still need IE for Windows Update, and probably always will. Only that Dell is installing Firefox and setting it as the Default browser, and probably removing the shortcuts to iexplore.exe
Really?.. look at Nintendo with N64 and Sega with Saturn followed by Dreamcast. Also Sony with Betamax (1972) vs VHS (1976). and and and, the whole DVD+ and DVD- debacle.
Just a little bit of history repeating, and I --the consumer-- stand to gain.
Why they couldn't just work there differences out with OASIS/OpenDocument, then your statement would of be more to the truth but in typical MS style, "I'll build a new bikeshed".
The funny thing is, you remembered/. and the more ironic part; the article will duplicate in just a few days due to a time parallax in the alternate universe, making you wonder if your how life if just like this.

Well if you've got a BBA --I dont sadly-- and you've cross compiled the apps you want to use on another *faster* machine, then pretty much anything.
Also a VGA cable would be good too, trying to read NetBSD's console on TV at 47Hz really Hz the eyes.
Only 3 more days and we'll have a dupe of this article! w00t!!
I went to lakeside (A Big shopping center here in england) and had a chance --well not that there was a queue, the xbox 360 was quite happy making Dixons' electrical bill that much steeper-- to have a fiddle with the xbox 360. I was impressed with what I saw so far and the UI/menu syetem is really quite out of this world, yes, M$ has done it again. The best part is it comes up in-game, I think when you press the green xbox button in the middle. --How I wish I could do that on my PS2-- and it feels quite fluidic.
My only gripe was that I expected a bit more from the graphics but that gives more reason to hold off atleast till the "second generation" of games hit the shelves and games developers have got the hang of all the "3cores/6threads" technical aspect, which could be 18 months away at most.
I am still reserving my judgement till PS3 and "Revolution" hit, although so far so good:)
Actually you'll find most manufacturer's now have a minimum of 3 years. Shame that this was a bit late going back as 6months ago I lost a 120GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 (6Y120L0131011) built back in 2003, atleast I get some nice magnets:)
Just a couple a weeks ago I RMA'd a Hitachi 120GB which decided to go clonk, clonk & clonk and had no-chances of passing DFT. I got a brand new one in 1 business week and it came all the way from singapore!.
On the flipside, all of my old HD's 2Gb are still working fine:S
Sorry, but that is a real crap idea, why should anyone waste more time and energy when they could be busy reading the dupes on/., or wahtever else they do?
For every false set of data they receive they have to try to use that invalid credit card number, ebay password, etc... Thus, costing them extreme amounts of time
How is that any better then fraud? especially under the eyes of the law.

if you search one of the above companies say that there products are already powerful enough not to need ush things, which given some of the physics I've seen in some of the more recent games is quite true, although I still wonder how much the CPU plays part, not the GPU.
Maybe if M$ was to update DirectX and require more physics related hardware accelerated physics then it might well hold and the whole PPU thing would pretty much sink, atleast as a seperate card, it would be just an additional unit inside the GPU.
China outnumbers us by approx. 4:1 and they are smart - very smart.
Ahh, but you forget that compared to us westerners, you need two chinese to stack up against us, so it is more like 2.35:1 or is that 16:9 or maybe 1.85:1, hmmm I dunno 4:3??.
But really, it is about time we all just learnt to get on and hold hands, bout time people realised there is no need for war today.

it CarNT be true..
On a side note, when do we see a Linux/NetBSD port?
Just a little bit of history repeating, and I --the consumer-- stand to gain.
I dont really want any more SOCks as I have enough to last me till next xmas now, although Linux or NetBSD on SOCks would be cool :)

Spin as you will.. even if:
Excelstor is an OEM of IBM/HGST.. atleast thats going by the mechanical and physical sense of an Excelstor right next to my eyes and ears.

Pesky paranoids..
maybe a new form of stenography? or maybe its eliptical curve control to aid with the slashdotting?
I wonder, do you check your logs as as vigourously as you do websites html source?
Atleast insightful.. as it seems most have missed this part regardless of googles seemingly obvious intentions ;)
Homer was later heard saying "Doh!"

Not exactly rocket science is it? oh..

Now, lets get this right.. these platters are spinning fast, but not as in rotation :)
Sorry but that really is bull. That is coming from a company that thought the internet was a fad. Business @ the Speed of Thought
