That is fine that it's just one ISP, but how long before religious groups start targeting the more bigger ISP's here like BT or Virgin. It's the start of a downward spiral, only took one man to start a war, and although that is a very different thing, there are similarities :)

This move reminds me of when Apple stopped supporting PPC devices. The article says WinPh8 won't support single-core devices. I wonder why? That would be equivalent to them releasing Windows 7 and saying, "Won't support Pentium 4 or other single-cores."

That is because Wph8 need more than one core because it's slow and needs more cores to move at a decent pace hahah

I wouldn't be so sure, even though the US spends a lot of $$$ on chinese gear, 300 million people isn't that many when u consider the size of other nations like India for instance at 1.1 billion or europe (i know not a single country but still 740 million and then there is africa at close to a billion asia including china is over 4 billion people. So i'm in kind of agreement that US needs China more than vice-versa, I mean if US companies did pull out of china, would mean that those companies would need to relocate somewhere else, they would need to spend more for manufacturing, salaries etc. Anyway that's what I personally think, I could be wrong :-)

The first thing I thought about was my N900, I think MeeGo will be still happening though, MeeGo is at 1.1 i'm pretty sure there will be more to it, and remember folks that Maemo apps are still being updated, and there is also Debian that can be installed if you wish, and with the overclockers kernel in maemo my N900 is faster than shit off a shovel. I will be looking after mine very carefully. It is still better specced than most driod phones (mines clocked at 1150Mhz, 1GIG ram and 48GB of storage) and loads of apps in the repo (yep u can apt-get apps for it). Just a shame Nokia didn't advertise like they could have, to me it pissed all over the Iphone and any droid i've used, and yes some did have better screens, but i know of no other phone that can turn over my TV or remote control my amp thru its IR transmitter, or play sounds in my friends car using the FM transmitter, or able to triboot Maemo, MeeGo, Android but i guess it is an end of an era.
