Yeah, it looks like a pretty standard school bus turn signal lamp to me. Hard to tell for sure without a better idea of the size, though. It would have been helpful if they had included some sort of scale in the photo.
Yersinia pestis is still endemic among rodents in Europe, Asia and the USA.
That's true. In fact, most public campgrounds here in California have signs warning of plague danger and advising people to keep their distance from ground squirrels, which are known carriers of the yersinia pestis bacterium.
Apple accepted the app, and then rejected it later, and asked that Google reimburse everyone who bought the app before that
Wrong on both points. First of all, it was intended to be a free download. Secondly, it was never available in the App Store anyway so there was nothing to be reimbursed.
I'm not defending Apple on this--I think they're wrong as can be--but you need to get your facts straight before you make an inflammatory post.
An analysis of the causality of motion leads to the inevitable conclusion that we are moving in an immense sea of energetic particles. Soon we will understand how to tap into the sea for energy production
Cool! Once we do, I'll be able to power up my phlogiston generator so I can use the caloric to power my N-ray emitters!
My iPhone requires several charges a day - I cannot imagine it getting any worse.
How much do you use it? I use my iPhone G3 as a music player roughly six hours a day, make a few phone calls, send lots of text messages and perhaps an hour or so of Web browsing and I generally have a least a half-charge left at the end of the day. Sure, I've had phones with better battery life but they didn't do nearly so much. It's a trade-off, for sure.
I'm not an eBay suck-up by any means--I just cancelled an auction that got zero bids after four days because the "new" eBay software failed to display two pictures--but I have to disagree with you about PayPay. I had recently was ripped off by a seller (no product shipped), filed a claim by filling out a simple on-line form (less than five minutes) and got a full refund a week later.
An old professor of mine used to say that an AA/AS was probably the wisest degree to go for. In his opinion, a BA/BS just meant that you'd learned to jump through hoops, a MA/MS meant that you'd learned to like jumping through hoops and a PhD meant that you got to hold the hoops for other people to jump through.
You know, you shouldn't be so gullible. Just because some Slashdotter thought it might be something Apple should do doesn't mean that it's something Apple does do. Or even can do.
Weird. I just did the same and "Open safe files" was not checked on either computer. I think we're living in parallel universes or something. Do you have a goatee?
Can't speak for you, of course, but just yesterday I put two totally fresh installs of Leopard on two Apple laptops and both had the "open safe files"option disabled by default.
Maybe it's different with Macs straight from Apple?
Wow, you took the story exactly opposite of what I intended it to be, which is: no matter how highly we may think of ourselves, there's some "lesser" critter out there who will give us a run for our money. In other words, it was written in admiration of Yellow-Yellow's intelligence and skill.
Given the myriad of ways we've managed to screw things up here on earth, I am in no way an advocate of us humans having dominion over much of anything.
the Russians still use thermionic valves for aircraft and spacecraft
Thermionic valves--what a quaint way of saying electron tubes...;-)
Actually, there is some reason to use valves/tubes in military craft--they are less susceptible to EMP than solid-state electronics. Not immune, mind you, but hardier.
I'm afraid you're being pretty naive, my friend. Even here in the United States the chances of you being successful and winning a judgement in a wrongful termination suit are miniscule. In a totalitarian state like China, they'd be infinitesimal, and that's assuming that the government didn't go ahead and toss you in a jail cell for a few years just for having the temerity of bringing the suit in the first place.

That might depend a lot on the condition of the car in question at the time of your death. If you catch my drift.
That's true. In fact, most public campgrounds here in California have signs warning of plague danger and advising people to keep their distance from ground squirrels, which are known carriers of the yersinia pestis bacterium.
You say that as if it's a bad thing...
Wrong on both points. First of all, it was intended to be a free download. Secondly, it was never available in the App Store anyway so there was nothing to be reimbursed.

There, fixed that for you.

Can't complain about that kind of service.

I can't? Damn, what are we gonna do now, Abdullah?
You know, you shouldn't be so gullible. Just because some Slashdotter thought it might be something Apple should do doesn't mean that it's something Apple does do. Or even can do.

How many Libraries of Congress is that?
No, a pigeon denial of service attack would be made with a shotgun.
Not impossible, but not all that practical either:
1) FCC rules say that you can't use the ham frequencies for commercial purposes so you have the problem of finding the bandspace.
2) Most of the data protocols that hams use are dead slow, designed for simple text messaging or low-res images.

So that's why I get a headache every time I try to install Windows...
True, but that option has been disabled by default for several years now.
Don't forget VCR. When Sony announced the first Betamax machine, sales languished--until the porn producers got on the bandwagon.
Author of the summary here.

You a ham? I'm in the process of studying for my ticket and gathering up gear.

I was gonna say that my cable TV company already has a lock on the A/V Aggravation market but you beat me to it.
