Seriously though, they have been talking about huge storage disks since we discovered round plastic circles. Yeah, they've been getting higher data densities, but if you look at the progression of other storage formats (especially hard drives) optical is just not keeping up. By the time we get 500Gb disks, they'll sound to us much like yesteryear's 40Gb disks sound to us now compared to our 500+Gb hard drives.
Technically IIRC, this would not violate the laws. There is an outside force acting on it in the form of the magnetic fields. The real test of the devices is if it can create more power before the magnets degauss than it takes to create the machine and magnets.
I'm on vista now, downloading Slackware. Trying to find a *nix package that will run on my laptop without sacrificing chicken blood to get the wifi drivers working. I refuse to use dialup to fix problems with wireless.
Does anyone know the basic differences I'd notice between this and say Fedora 7 or Ubuntu?
I can't believe the civilization as advanced as ours is full of people who can't even program a computer. It's just odd.
Isn't ours? Don't they have similar testimonies about the Philadelphia project, ghosts, dragons, dinosaurs, faeries, unicorns, and women IT professionals? (and I'm sure some will read this, so its just a joke, don't get mad... my office is all guys:(... )
While I don't necessarily think they have the greatest track record, I must point out that they had more responsibilities than just 3 buildings and a few planes on one day. Also because of their secretive nature, it makes it somewhat harder to determine when they successfully stopped attacks. There is certainly room for improvement, but they still serve a purpose.
This doesn't stop people to giving out account information over the phone, or link spoofing. How many people just click links and don't read them. "My email says its from a bank, and some Prince wants to give me a buttload of money. Yey!".
Its a step I guess, but education goes a bit further, I think. At least they could use the 50k to help victims of spoofing, or to come up with other (better) solutions.
Hello, this is AOL tech support... we have lost our database for user names, your account will not function unless you give us your account name and the first 8 letters of your password for confirmation...
Maybe I'll ask for credit cards too...
I hope they have two new competing formats!

Umm, step 4 should be profit.
where else can you get yourself put on a terrorist watch list for $450?
Back in my day we used to have to pay attention for 30 minutes...
That's it. I'm investing all my money in ADD medicines.
2 minutes previews and 4 minutes credits? What is going to be in the previews? The credits?

...then they headed north west to work in California's orchards.
You totally misspelled half of that post. :-p

I believe the application is called Internet Explorer iirc.
Meh, whats a few powers of ten?? Your like those buggy folk at NASA that care what measurement system people are using.
I totally agree, I promote civil unrest and anarchy in my state too.

You think its bad for you? Just imagine what it does to Microsoft Surface.
Eh, it beats the at least 3 articles I've seen this week about the issue with videotaping a cop in PA.
Its there for anyone signing up, as its on their page.
:(.
I'm still stuck on crappy dialup or one way services.
I was gonna say, my waterproof watch isn't nuke proof either.
On a positive note the Nuke shelters weren't needed or lots of people would have drowned.
Won't all this video clog the internet pipes? Its not a dump truck you know...
When do we get the lightning rifles?
Chuck Norris!
PS Scam artists laugh and respond with a .phish TLD.

...its Microsoft, in which case its the stupidest idea he's heard since he started working for Microsoft.

Brown outs for everyone! Now you can get stuck in the sweltering heat of your dark room because the grid can't handle air conditioners and cars!
