Yeah, I remember back when I/people use to say that people where not programmers just because they made websites. That really has changed since perl, php, and now ajax are became popular ways of doing websites. You really do need a little bit of a programmers background to get something done on the web now.
I thought you had to have a device that could do said patent, or at least have a drawning of how the device and how it would work. Did he submit said pics?
Yeah, I got that update thing at about the same time. I there wasn't an anouncement of a new release, I was going to start thinking that FF's update utility got hacked into.
Well, its a bug that is in the OS that MS profided to run this system. Its not the admins fault, and I'm sure the admins probably did everything to get rid of it. But its a known bug in the OS. So well known that a maintenance procedure has been implemented to keep the bug from showing itself by rebooting the comptuer system every 30 days. This one time they didn't reboot it after 30 days and it got to day 49, so the system crashed. Now why does this OS problem get blamed on the admin? There is no OS out there that should need to be rebooted before reaching a set date on a very important system such as this? I'm sorry, this is not a bad setup by and admin like the Linux worm would need to take advantage of a bad setup.
Most Colleges wont let students have tosters in their dorm room, because it is an easy way for a student to set the building on fire. I had to evacuate my dorm due to a flaming bagel once my softmore year. Worst part was the fact it was raining that day.
There is no cost difference to the consumer. Just you don't get to keep the show when you are done I think. For 99 cents you get to watch the show for only 24 hour time period, or at least that is how my friend says the movies in the on demand work with comcast. Apple, you get to keep the show to watch it as many times as you want, and have the ability to take it with you.
Remember when the LA air traffic control tower crashed, due to a bug in MS software after 49 days. I would think that this would make it up there. http://www.itgarage.com/node/459
Well, its a client and a protocol. But if everyone was to drop using the client that you get from the official Bitorrent site, then it would just be a protocol. And if Bitorrent does gets sued for having its client, and they shutdown, it wont shutdown the network that it has created since there are a bunch of clients out there. Like FastTrack protocol has Kazaa, Imesh, and Grobster clients on it.
Windows encription is easily analizable with Encase version 5 and when analizing a hard drive, its not that hard to figure out where stuff is. Linux or Windows, everything gets stored in the natrual spots, so if you know where to look as a IT guy, you will do just fine as a Computer Forensics analyst.
Windows 2000 and Beta 2. Did the Help > Update, and it downloaded 600Kb file, did the install, FF restarted and then it prompted me to download another update, which was 6Mb, and that got installed. Then FF restarted again and is asking to check for an update again, and while its looking it is just scrolling and not getting or finding anything to download.
Free nightly news on iTunes, right after, or during the broadcast on the TV set. That to me, would be what puts the nail in the coffen for TV. But I don't expect that to happen. Reason I say free is because it has always been free. The people that have the bunny ears for their TV I think can still get ABC/NBC/Fox and watch the news for free. I know some people are going to jump on me and say news papers are not free, but you are mainly paying for the paper, and the opion parts of the paper, not the news part. Plus the newspaper has ads to help pay for its production. As for adds in the nightly news broadcasts on iTunes, I could deal with, as long as they are free downloads.
Well, there is the big bang theory.
I guess Carl Bialik emailed Zonk about it, and Zonk posted it.

Well, the reason why Quicktime comes with it is because they share things needed to play audio and video, especially video.
They are blocked by router filters that kill the connections.

Actuallly, it more of:
Step 1: Patent something obvious
Step 2: Let other companies infringe on that patent for awhile.
Step 3: Sue.
Step 4: ??????
Step 5: Profit.

These, Tom, are your cause-heads. They find a world-threatening issue and stick with it... for about a week.
But I thought there was no stupid questions. Is there?

The latest update to Safari, which was two days ago, is suppose to be able to pass the Acid2 test.

Now just get it up on iTunes and I'll be even happier.
