It took us about 160 years to finally beat segregation and your telling me we have solved our problems in just 40 years?! This is absurd, of course there is racism in jobs, its all over the place. We have made great strides, but we are not even close to being completely racist free.
I find it suprising nobody has mentioned The Cathedral and the Bazaar by Eric S. Raymond. Such a great book about open source and its benefits, it should be on everyones bookshelf.
I agree, its more like, what default PHP protections? PHP as little to none default protection so much so that they make it insecure by default. You would have to go through a considerable amount of work to make any script secure.
Despite the fact that reverse engineering is legal for plenty of abstract instances, there's only a few cases where it's legal (in the US) to reverse engineer to compete/modify/upgrade (with) a product.
Hmm, thats odd, because Intel, clearly reversed engineered AMD's 64-bit extensions. I suppose thats only one of the few cases though. Source.
Are there any guids out there that explain the current Patent system and what qualifies as a violation? I dont know a whole lot about it specifically speaking in terms of what qualifies as breaking a patent or so.
Actually, they already do this with Lineage 2. Note that the grind in this game is much harder than WoW and will guarantee that they will be busy for much longer than by just playing WoW. Just check your local online virtual retailer and you'll see.
Finally we see the real reason for the patent system. Not to get the little guys but for big corporations to war each other over mundane idiosyncrasies in their web apps.
I highly doubt Firefox will follow the "likes of Mosaic." First of all, I will never use IE again. Secondly, Firefox is open source and will always have a few people behind it that keep it going not for the popularity but for their own personal enjoyment. I doubt Firefox will go away anytime soon.
I wouldnt download music from these services anyday. Why? The quality is just too bad. When I get a CD, I listen to it for the quality of sound not because of price. For me, I would rather buy music and get a better sounding product, than download.
This is true and its going to become a serious problem as the Earth's oil resources are depleted. Innovation should hopefully ramp up as this becomes a reality. I would hope to see major gains in this area sometime in the next 20-30 years.
I would have to disagree that AMD has it a cap. I mean to me, it seems like their more popular than ever. With all their latest processors proving to be better than Intel's, it seems like all my friends have AMD's these days. Now, I can see where the big PC vendor market has a lot more effect than what my buddies buy, but eventually, it trickles around and it seems as more people would start to buy AMD.
If we knew a comet was going to hit us, 100% sure, I doubt we would send just 820 pounds at the thing and hope for a miracle. So far, I do not believe there is any comet that is 100% going to hit us. Of course, determining anything to be 100% would be hard, but c'mon, 820 pounds aint gonna stop a big ass comet.
Dont want to pay for Suse? Oh wait, Debian died years ago, were screwed.
If Debian should have died years ago, that explains why Ubuntu and Knoppix are popular today.
If Debian should have died years ago, that also explains why people are flocking to *BSD.
Good thing Debian died years ago!
And since when is Debian not a "reliable" distro?

Its exciting as Perl, Java, Python, or whatever else you want to use.
You would love PHP if you build small apps that just get the job done. You don't need to implement a special MVC architecture if you don't want to.
PHP is known for doing things quickly. If you need an app to update some news or something, you can throw it together in PHP in little more than a day.
Its not that its better to use PHP than other languages, its that it can be used to do things quickly.

... the the patch against software crap comes out. OO is slow, bloated, and buggy. 'Nuff said.

FYI, Nintendo removed the digital A/V out in May 2004 from all Gamecube's to cut costs. See this.

Uh, you dont live at the fire department do you? Banks hold money, its a bit different. If I give them my money, I expect them to hang on to it.
Not free, but Aid4Mail does do this. So its not impossible.
Another option, just route all traffic through Privoxy. It does a much better job that AdBlock and its not browser dependent.

Well, if something does go wrong, they can go to the backup backup plan and thats blame it on the fact they launched on the 13th.

Suprisingly, there is no mention of this anywhere on Google News. Hmm...

... believe their is no life in Canada either.
This is like blamming Ford for all the traffic accidents. What a bunch of BS.... Next time I get a ticket, its Ford's fault, not mine...
