Even though Firefox downloads continue to climb everyday, with no sign of stopping, and the recent rampant of spyware attacks all seemingly coming from Internet Explorer vulnerabilities, I'd like to officially annount that Microsoft still does not feel Firefox is a threat to Internet Explorer.
Also, our friends in the advertising world are very upset that Firefox has many built-in and 3rd-party plugins to block ads. That goes against the Internet weay, where pop-ups "pay" for your Internet access, and everyone used Internet Explorer without questioning authority.
I'd once again like to state that Firefox is not a threat to IE dominance, even though it is sinking faster than Elijah Wood's career after LOTR. We have some new feature's planned for IE in the near future, including the ability for executables to install on your system without asking you, even if you have ActiveX turned off and you're only logged in as Guest. We feel this will enhance the spread of genuine 3rd-party apps that enhance the Internet "shopping" experience. Also, we may finally include that fabled Tabbed Browsing myth that I keep hearing about. I would have to take your word on it since, like my blind Christian faith and fear of homosexuals, I only use Internet Explorer and would never *think* of using anything else.
Even though IE is only for Windows, this dominance includes Mac OS X and Linux. Even though Firefox is available for pretty much all platforms and IE is generally only for Windows, we feel it's unnecesary to even consider Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris or BSD as alternative operating systems, since Windows is, let's face it, the only operating system. And it's the operating system God would use... even though his computer is a Mac. But obviously the Homosexual Agenda has gotten to him first.

Don't worry about it sucking. The mere fact that the movie DOESN'T have Schumacher means it's instantly at least better than Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Phantom of the Opera, Phone Booth, Bad Company or The Incredible Shrinking Woman (and just about every other movie you could think of that Joel spewed his directoral feces into).
Using SNES as an example, current emulators are very advanced, highly optimized, and about as good as they're generally going to get. This new company would have to reproduce many years of work that has already been done.
They could pull a "Cherry OS" and just steal the source-code for ZNSES...
Who the hell said this was set in stone? This is a rumor. I highly doubt that Nintendo is going to make a mistake when they know what the people want. These are the same people who made Link older in the upcoming Zelda 2005 because it's what the people were crying about. I also doubt Nintendo is going to bring to the attention anything that even slightly resembles Virtual Boy.
Please give Nintendo more credit than claiming that they're gonna put some ancient 3D gimmick effect in their new console that will scare off consumers and 3rd-party publishers. These are the people who (currently) have been in the business longer than anyone else has (can't claim Atari now, they're gone). Everyone needs to stop preparing for Nintendo's funeral, it's not coming any time soon.
I have a feeling if Nintendo ever does go 3rd-party (and I do hope to a just and loving God that they don't), they'd more likely either be exclusive to Sony or equally develop for both. But I highly doubt they'd be exclusive to Microsoft.
While it would seem to make sense since both Nintendo (of America) and Microsoft are next-door neighbors in Redmond, remember that Nintendo is primarily a Japanese company and more likely to side with the Japanese competitor (Sony) should this happen.
Generally, these sort of things sell less than in the US and Japan. Which is odd, because I figure if the PSP sold any less than it did in the US, they'd be into negative sales. And I don't know how that works yet.
"The Mario DS vs FF: Origins etc argument is kind of valid, but at least the Final Fantasy handheld remakes weren't allegedly wonderful platform-launching titles."
Wonderswan Color, anyone?
By the way: No, I didn't make a typo. I fully meant what I said about Square Enix. And double what I said about its fans. You just proved that point.
"Will the porn industry spearhead the adoption of the PSP like it has with so many other new technologies?"
At first I thought this was a stupid idea. Then I realized, that the geeks who shelled out the $250+ for this system and still insist on referring to it as "sleek and sexy" are the ones who need this the most.
Jade Empire being better than Wind Waker maybe, but Kingdom Hearts is miles behind even Zelda 2. The real-time battle system of both Jade Empire and Kingdom Hearts still do not compare to any Zelda. All mentioned games are still not as majestic as Ocarina of Time though.
By the way, never compare anything Square Enix to anything Nintendo. Square Enix is the equivalent to Dell in the video game world. They've got their blindly loyal fanboys, but everyone else knows they make crap (even though their old stuff use to be good).
Most Gamecube games do not fill the whole disk. Even the Wind Waker's ROM is actually less than 100MB big (it's not too much bigger than Ocarina of Time which was only 32MB). What Nintendo does is fill the disk with zero/garbage data to fill each disk to capacity. This makes pirating a Gamecube ROM a pain in the ass and nearly impossible, and its worked pretty well I'd think.
If Nintendo is making Link the older one because they were listening to their fans, then I'm sure they'll put other fan-requested features in it as well. I'm sure they heard the world cry out with its lack of dungeons, and double when The Minish Cap had a lack of dungeons too. A wearwolf transformation idea sounds something like what a fan would suggest.
Afterall, the idea of masks transforming Link in Majora's Mask was a large, fan-requested and petitioned request, and it became the staple feature of that game.
America's Army is a game funded by the US Army to bring in new recruits.
I don't know about any of you... but when I think US Army soldiers, I don't picture overweight, pot-smoking, white college kids with 2.0 GPA's and a 1337 gaming PC playing first-person shooters as our fighting force.
Everything except DVD's on the PS2 is true. But remember, when the PS2 came out in 2000, many people did not have a DVD player. A lot of people actually used the PS2 as a DVD player more than a game machine. To this day, I know many people (mostly high schoolers and college kids, you know, the demographic that the video game market is catered to), still use their PS2 as their primary DVD player, or in most cases, only DVD player.
I was planning on buying the harddrive-less Xbox 360 because I don't play online much, not anymore, and also don't use it for pirating. I also do not play sports games which often require more space than a memory card can hold. I am content with a memory card for saving.
However, backwards compatibility is a big thing for me. So I guess I'll have to shell out for the Xbox 360+ (Xbox 361?), just for this feature. It's a pain in the ass to have to keep the Saturn next to the Dreamcast since Sega had no idea what backwards compatibility was, but I won't have both an Xbox and Xbox 360 wasting space on my shelf.
The characters in Toy Story weren't shakey figures with torret's syndrome suffering from the jaggies like they were in FFX. Amazing how a game from 2001 couldn't top CGI from 1995, and still can't.
Too bad the PSP was a complete and utter failure. The DS isn't so hot either, but Nintendo at least has GBA. Don't look for Nintendo slipping out of the #1 spot in handhelds anytime in your lifetime.
Funny how NetBSD seems to work on toasters, wristwatches and Gameboys just fine, but it took them *this* long to get it to work on the Mac Mini, which is an actual computer.

That's probably another reason it's Xbox-only.

Anyone realize that the terms "Revolution" and "360" (degrees) are related? I wonder if Microsoft and Nintendo know something that we dont...

God, is there NOTHING that Microsoft doesn't copy from Apple???
Revealing their product first.

Seriously. I hope I'm not the only one who thought 'Pippin' when Microsoft announced they were making a game system (back in 2000)...
