It's hard to believe that many people would buy a laptop without an optical drive. One of the primary uses for my laptop is letting the kids play games and watch DVD's in the back seat during long drives. (I see no point in spending hundreds on a separate device that's just for playing movies in the car.) When I use it, it's usually for work, but I've watched a few movies on it myself, and I wouldn't consider buying a laptop that didn't have that feature
See the pattern? You != Many people.
Why people always think their lifestyle is the only one and a company with billions in the bank is always wrong is beyond me.
It might not be the iPhone, but the MacBook Air is selling much stronger than many of us would have guessed. After a full month of being on the market, the MacBook Air is still a difficult commodity to obtain in some markets
(...)
according to the Apple Store sales rank widget, the MacBook Air has been the top selling Mac since before the middle of February, outselling the MacBook, the iMac, and the MacBook Pro--this, despite week-long shipping delays.
I'm a bit surprised to see TextMate in this too, but one thing you missed is that this license for TM is for version 1.x ONLY, while regular v 1.x buyers get a free upgrade to 2.x
Macheist buyers will have to pay a reduced price to get v 2.
So it doesn't mean TM is not worth it's price, it means TM 1.x is not worth the full price as v2 is coming soon.
BTW, if you think TM is "pricey", that means you don't really understand what you can do with it... I think EUR 39 is cheap for that beast!
I use SuperDuper! to make a clone of my boot partition on a FW drive. "Smart Update" is fast and if something goes bad, I can reboot on the external drive and work immediately, then take the time to fix it later. For important files, I use unison to a remote server via ssh, I prefer it over Rsync. Chronosync is nice to make automatic backups to external drives.
I don't see how Apple's Time Machine could make Super Duper! obsolete, at least for me. What if I can't boot anymore and needs to work now?
2 The package. One maybe 2 great songs and filler. 3 The compression. Most CD's now are compressed to increase the percieved loudness much like most FM broadcast stations. What ever happened to dynamic range? Much of what sells for music is as pleasant to listen to as a jet engine idling. On compressed music, the kick drum mutes the lead guitar. On music with proper dynamic range the drum plays and does not affect the level of the guitar.
2) As someone else wrote, maybe you should find artists you really like? If a CD has just 2 good songs, I don't want to listen to this artist at all.
3) You may be a technician, but not an audio technician;) Compression is used for almost all music (except classical) for something like 50 years. I agree some actual music are over compressed/limited and the "be as loud as possible" trend sucks, but I don't see the point to mention this here as the mp3, aac or whatever are made from the same master than the CD. In fact, compression has nothing to do with the support, it is made during the mix or pre-mastering. Finally, if the "kick drum mutes the lead guitar", this is badly pre-mastered or mixed. Again, you should try to find better artists.
I don't agree with the KKK, for an extreme example, but I do agree with their right to speak their minds
So you'd have agreed with Hitler talking, then being elected like he did...
Now, It's different here in Europe, you have the right to speak, not to say horrible things about any kind of people or to insite to violence, racial hate, etc.
Calm down.
Can someone just say it's funny they warn you about not supporting some browsers but don't mention the rest of the world without you taking the gun of the shelf?
It's funny you can scroll to the rest of the world and fint it empty too.
Why should we do all the work for you???
We? You worked on it?
Looks like they represented the world exactly like in your own mind...
Oh, there's map services in Europe too, btw. Google for it;)
P.S: Sorry for my english, I live in the blue area.
Easy: Because he can.
And there probably are other guys trying to make phone calls with their remotes.

It's 20MB now. See here.
In the Keyboard & Mouse system pref there is an option called:
"Tap trackpad with two fingers for secondary click".
At least on my MB Pro.
Moving two fingers = scroll.
Taping two fingers = right click
I rarely use the trackpad button in fact.
Already the case here in Belgium...

Why would I forward an email with an attachment I can't open?
Here, it's at down right corner...
;)
Apparently, WMMV.
Till now, only the series 60 are supported by iSync...
Nokia's market share is quite big.
Would it be that hard to support more Nokia phones?
They all sync perfectly.
Easy to use them to connect your Mac via BT.
Lots of models.
Sturdy.
Better UI than Nokia IMHO.

Do we really need this kind sensationalism?
The announce of the new version fixing this was posted on
Anything new?
It's running fine on a 6 years old G4 400!
Sure, it's not as fast as with my iMac G5, but still perfectly usable.
The mini is not far from the PB 12" and it's running extremely well on it, can't see the difference with the G5.
For those who have hardware older than 7 years, maybe it's time to upgrade...
Much better than between Jaguar and Panther.
;)
The most complete list I saw is here
It's in french, but knowing that OK = OK and NON = No, should be enough in most case.

it is obvious, you'll see it, no problems ;)
Go to System Prefs and launch Software Update.
Hope you'll enjoy your new little friend.
