    I think the solution is just to use smaller planes. That way damage is minimized if the terrorists do take control. Think no bigger than a city bus. Then we can use the same security protocol that we have for city buses i.e. none.
    That has worked out pretty well in London.

    I think the increased weight would be a bigger drawback.

    The the shipping weight to distribute say $1000 in one dollar coins is much different than one thousand one dollar coins.

    Bills would be easier to count, bundle into stacks with a rubber band and slip into a night deposit box than coins that needed to be counted and rolled.

    Blaster was first discovered 8/11/2003. The patch for the vulnerability that Blaster exploits was released on 7/16/2003.

    Sasser was first discovered 4/30/2004. The patch for the vulnerability that Sasser exploits was released on 4/13/2004.

    Now I don't know about how they calculate time in your world but in this world both of those are easily more than two months old.


    Your calendar must be running fast. That is actually 3-4 weeks or less than one month.

    I do agree with your point that most users got infected only by not taking the most simple of precautions and using the automated Windows Update feature while running naked (without a firewall).

    Any IT staff that got nailed by this shouldn't have been employed in the first place.

    The fix to tweak "network.enableIDN: did not work for me, even though the change in about:config claimed it was retaining the setting.

    I went to the spoof test sites and I was still being spoofed without any hint of a problem.

    The token, made by VeriSign, is also used to verify the identity of people logging on to corporate networks.

    Hence the money maker.

    In order for it to be revokable, it will have to contain a unique ID associated to an identity.

    Can't revoke a token that "Timmy" lost if you don't which one he was issued.

    Possible plan:
    1. Issue a token to the kids for this purpose.
    2. Sell to All Adults for commercial use.
    3. Offer additional "service" of associating child tokens to various adult tokens for the ultimate White List, controled by the associated and Trusted Parent of course.
    (ie. Grandpa ID of adult verified, IM to little Timmy authorized.)
    4. Compile large database of who is associated to whom and tie to browsing habits of said PC used by each token.
    5. ????
    6. Profit!

    There are better deals. If you are paying a monthly fee, you negate any "low" per cent charges.

    I got a deal with Verizon thru their web site (an internet only offering) for 7 cents a minute, no service fee.

    They send you a seperate bill, but how diffucult is it to write a check?

    I've had statements where the check amount was less than the postage since I barely make any calls from home.

    I could use my cell phone which give free long distance but the calls cut in and out, especially if the other person talks over you. POTS gives you a cleaner call.

    It's not polite to tell you Grandmother to "Shut the ---- up" just to save a buck.

    My ISP blocks port 25 also. I have webhosting elsewhere and I do not want that domain's mail to be sent through my ISP's servers either.

    What you can also do is have your client set thier SMTP to port 587 versus port 25. This is a known SMTP port on the server and your webhost should already be listening for mail on it.

    This is actually a part of the SMTP RFC.

    Many people expect to get AT LEAST CBS. I like Letterman, and CSI, I'd be dissappointed if I couldn't get those shows...

    Actually it depends on your location. In my area (Toledo, OH), no local network channels are offered and you cannot get channels from another market (even Detroit).

    I have a good friend using Dish Network and he needs to get basic cable to get these channels or use an antenna.

    My brother has Direct TV and they are the same way.

    Installing a Spambot implies that you are actively in control of the situation. You installed it, you did not uninstall it or shut down access to it. You knowingly kept it online.

    IMHO, the only way this is the same thing as gun manufacturers is if the sales rep were standing next to you, giving you tips and reloading for you.

    Interesting.

    Assuming that the place is doing MAC filtering and/or using DHCP assigning legitimate IP addresses to known good MAC addresses, how would you get a MAC added to that system? (Other than just using a MAC already on the system and creating a duplicate MAC address on the network.)
