It would be nice if my OS didn't need 1+gb of ram just to run smoothly so a smaller windows would be great. I don't however think the entire OS will be run virtually ever....
Where is George Carlin when you need him. On a more serious note inst it nice that laws governing I.T. are made by those with the least amount of understanding of how it works.
Not necessarily repeat downloads. People like me keep the most recent version backed up come place for use upon reloading windows or firefox so i don't have to download it again. Now my question is how many people download firefox and save it toa cd or jump drive and install it on other peoples pcs when working on them?
The point is it is easy for a home user to use. The biggest draw back to users installing any distro is difficulty of use. If your tired of removing spyware from mom and das pc the best alternative to offer them is Umbuntu.
Or maby simply Micro$oft is like the borg they will add Mozzilla to their collective. Or better yet Micro$oft recognizes their competition and wants to show good pr.
The blind are my personal favorit. I remember when i had a maps issue and my systems department wanted a screan shot of the exact error. My seeing users couldnt get it but the blind guy could and did with out a problem.
Imay get flamed for this but i see no problem with Micro$oft including their products with Windows. If you dont like them nothing stops you from getting itunes/quick time or realplayer. Nothing stops you from downloading aim or icq or yahoo or google im. This is just a government way of making money offpeoples stupidity.

I would prefer to see booting osx86 on a non intel mac then ruining a perfectly good mac with xp.

I had a similar problem untill i upgraded the firmware. Now it is rock solid!!
