Over the last month its been 'renewal time' - I swear, I tell them "No thank you, I don't read it" they put me on the "pester til he caves" list. (I haven't yet, though)
ALL I DO IS RECYCLE THE DAMNED THINGS! (Maybe I'll just say that...)
"But sir, our magazine is full of informa..." "I don't read it."
As someone who has one in the house (roommate won one about a year ago) 12MPH is fast enough - by the time you're going 12MPH, you're leaning quite a bit - 25MPH would be crazy.
We use it for the novelty. Taking it out on event days in the city - 4th of July, for example - or when we need something *quick* as our bikes are in the basement and cars can take too long for some of the shorter places.
Problem: none of the current virtual machine solutions allow for full 3D support. (Or direct access to hardware, that we could install on a consumer/gaming-grade system)
Considering that we work on machines that are located around the country, we are incredibly dependent upon the Internet. Then again...it is the Internet that gave rise to my job...removing spyware and viruses... We've had a few outages, mainly due to the corporate proxy server(s) dying, hard.
On that same note...insurance discount after time? Tie it in, if you can prove that it was 'installed' all the time, and then show them the online configuration showing its configuration settings...get a reduced rate for someone who fell under the above situation?
People wonder why I bought the 60GB Ipod Photo I carry around. (And the second-hand 30GB video, but that's a side point)
$399 for 20GB or for another $100, triple that capacity. Hmmm....
The 30GB Video I use for data right now (but might swap it for the 60GB Photo - get video + music on one, and more data on the other, but I digress)
On it I carry:
PStart - for a launcher-menu capability
Installers for all my common apps - for myself, and others Portable FileZilla Portable Firefox - Have all my extensions, bookmarks, etc on here. In fact, I use this copy on my workstations at home now too. Portable OpenOffice.org Portable Thunderbird - not set to download, but I can check (set to NOT delete from server, and only grab the headers anyway) and send email should I need to.
Work installers/files (since I sometimes am not at my workstation, easier if I have them portable)
And outlawed things are the 'cool' and 'in' thing to do - Crapola,/.....our days are numbered! We geeks & nerds can't be caught doing something 'cool!'
Friend of mine got sued by the FBI, for downloading mp3s, under the Patriot Act. Ended up getting a nice settlement check out of that one...never did hear all the details, should find them out...
Problem with that is that a Big-Brother-ish society isn't (usually, at least, in all the stories/movies/books depicting such a society) focused on technology, and efficiency.
No. I've found things in floppy drives all over the place - at my high school, it was a note, folded up many times. At my college, while I worked in the library, it was a floppy in the zip drive.
Then there was the high school student who thought it'd be funny to put a pen drive in the CD-ROM and cram it shut. Were we not so broke that we couldn't affoard mouse balls, I wouldn't have spent an hour disassembling that drive to get it back...
Could. But, those can be hidden. Only a few of them can really find it, but there's always the possibility that it's one of the impossible-to-detect ones.
I just have my own machine, loaded up my way, and if it's running Windows, I run as limited user.
and is perfectly leagal as a practical extention of the Patriot Act. See...there's this little problem with the Patriot Act. Heard of the Constitution, and Bill of Rights? Yeah, that Patriot Act convieniently forgets they both exist...making just about ANYTHING legal in the 'War on Terror.' (Sidenote: To quote that other cliche, how do you go to war against a verb?)
You'll learn, young Padawan, that to keep that girlfriend you must do other things. Things that don't require 'unlocking content' or finding 'secret areas.'
How about those of us who (for fun and/or profit) test and review hardware?
Per these licenses, I'll need a new copy of Vista for every other system I review, if it doesn't come with a version of its own...
But they didn't put in a working link. Here it is: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open/

AAAARRRGGGHHHH
Freaky...suprised I never hit upon that in the past...
Interesting though, now I've got a new prank to play on people:D

You first have to click the link from the registered email address.
SO you'd have to have that randomly-generated link to make use of said security question.
If you paid by check or credit card, they can generate a new copy of the receipt...just visit Customer Service...

Otherwise, I'd be all over that.
You mean this one?

Nice Monty Python reference

I'm suprised that isn't attached to the new condos downtown off Nicolette - $98,000-$238,000 for 1-2 bedroom Condos...

Websense here at work picked up the above as "Weapons" and blocked it, FYI.
Grrr.

Now what are we going to do...?

Yup. Limited User/Guest + Firefox
