We went to Avast! Managed to get away from SAV. We run mainly older desktops (P3 933, 256MB), so every bit of free memory helps. Avast uses around 20MB, unlike nearly every one of it's competitors.
linux command-line is non-trivial for gui-users, it takes a mindset change. As far as the moderation goes, you told the parent pretty much exactly what he didn't want to hear - a fair stance, but at the same time it's confrontational.
I run XP 64 - the "driver only" option isn't listed on the main download page for me. Was trying to keep it simple (granted, at the expense of bandwidth).:)
Addictive behavior with anything is a desire to insulate yourself against actual or perceived problems. The problems don't go away when you stop (ab)using. You either deal, or you start abusing something else. With how our modern society is today, being personally responsible for your own problems is passe, so addiction is prevalent.
Every addict is running from something. Taking away their "shield" solves nothing.
That, and strong is the money at Harvard. Even stronger, the privilege of those who attend. They have all the resources to take the RIAA's campaign down. No wonder why they avoid them.
ASUS was the gold standard and all but bulletproof until a couple of years ago. Can't figure out what the heck happened to them.

As my environment isn't yours, though - try it out for a few first.
Terminal Man made a fair transition as well. But Sphere... ugh, I vote that it goes where the original version of Highlander 2 went.
And yet, these bad jokes are just the tibia iceberg.
They used to, back when 120 minutes existed...

...this is old news. They've already done five cores some time ago.

I don't use it, but doesn't iTunes allow you to add the tracks from a CD to your library automatically?
The RIAA versus millions of iPod owners. This could get interesting...
"Stream of Consciousness" is the Outer Limits episode you refer to.
Don't you mean an open mic?
Shhh! Maybe if the price of high fructose corn syrup goes up enough, they'll go back to putting sugar in everything...

You're giving them too much credit with regards to game selection. Maybe, perhaps, a Virtual Boy with HDMI.
As a (brief) former beta tester, they're spot-on.
Does inventory still randomly (partially or completely) vanish as well?
This phenomenon is commonly referred to as Jevon's Paradox.

One warning : test Foxit before deploying in a corporate environment. Foxit presumes full access to HKLM to work properly with IE/Outlook/etc..
Other than that, Foxit is a very nice piece of software.
