Viewing messages on one of the top 10 BOINC Seti teams worldwide, there is a small consensus that "no way will I BOINC." For some reason, people seem opposed to the new BOINC system, despite the massive leaps in stability and usability which have happened in the last year. This may not amount to more than 10% of the crunching capacity of any team (or overall), but I think it could be some time before raw throughput returns to "normal" for Seti after the conversion.
Of course, Seti@Home's weakness has never really been the client software - it's been project backbone, power, and server issues, for several years now.
I'd pass by the software and go for a pair of headphones, and lay down in a relaxing place and listen to a "learning self-hypnosis" CD. They'll generally walk you through a progressive relaxation, coupled with "deeper" and "down" suggestions. After the few times listening to it you'll relax, and find yourself in a very interesting state of mind.
Actually, smart shoppers should already be grabbing OEM copies of the operating systems. These require a hardware purchase to be legit, so stock up on 99c case screws!
I have an Archos Gmini 400, and it does everything I need it to. Drag and drop files via USB, no DRM, plays Divx and xviD, records concerts (kinda), mp3/wma support, and outputs video/sound to a TV via composite video.
Repartee (Windows version linked to here) is one of the more popular mid-sized voicemail systems out there. Until two years ago, it ran strictly on OS/2.
Administering one for three years, it never crashed. It locked up once, which we later chalked up to the long-dead UPS it was still plugged into.
The first set of 20 episodes (19 at 3 minutes and 1 at 7-9 minutes) were designed as "fill in the blanks" material for what happens between Episodes II and III.
After the first 20 rolled, Lucas was so impressed that he asked Tartakovsky to write "another hour leading directly into the Episode III crawl," so that everyone gets some backstory on Episode III. Tartakovsky cranked out 5 episodes this time at 12 minutes each, to give the story better depth.
So, two projects, two volumes. The first volume was released on DVD the same week the second premiered on Cartoon Network.
If you haven't already, watch a copy of Clone Wars (Season 3/episodes 21-25) and see if it sheds any more light on Episode III. DVD release is around the same time as the movie, I think.
Check back once 2.2 (about to enter beta) is released, they've gotten that patched up pretty well.
Stability has never been an issue with myself and Shareaza.
So, they're the Scientology of spyware, then?

That must be why they're working on a BOINC Folding client.

The 52/53k limit was due to power restrictions on the lines. This article has this and more gems about 56k.

Not bad for $300 - the same price as an iPod.

Been done before, but not with Seti : Symantec Writeup.
"Is it permissible to accept a free copy of a computer game or program from a friend? Why or why not?"
Sounds like they've got the RIAA/MPAA's concerns covered already. Why did they need a new merit badge again?

Surprised noone's chimed in with the KLF^WTimelords' version of "Doctorin' the Tardis." The video is.... amusing...
