The same bastards that endanger your life by road texting, against the laws of the land and common sense, will invariably opt for the no-text road... then text!
Yeah, after you show them the slow clicky way with the mouse, you can show them the keyboard shortcuts. Then they can enjoy losing much faster and more comfortably.
Yeah, between Netflix, iTunes, and the odd Xbox TV show purchase, my monthly outlay comes to about 40 bucks. The cable company can keep their packages, crappy service, and their infernal commercials. I do miss the occasional random whacked-out program on my local cable access channel, tho.
I'm on the market for a large screen TV, and am planning to go LCD rear projection. Still, there is an expensive light source involved (a light bulb, if you will). I was given the following advice to extend the life of my light source: If I turn the TV on, leave it on for at least a half hour. If I turn it off, leave it off or at least a half hour. Since I have no children, I have some hope of being able to comply with this regimen.
I'm wondering if this is really going to increase lamp life? and are there fundamental differences between light sources (filament bulb, arc, etc.) that might apply to DLP, but not LCD?
My wife is an ecology grad student and she uses these in the field to record butterfly behavior. Her professor tried a PDA solution, but the form factor, cost and complexity issues brought her back to the trusty Tandys. Some crusty (in a nice, techie way) guy keeps her fleet in repair for her via mail at a reasonable cost.
almost one in five said they had formed real-life friendships or relationships with those they play with online
I find that I don't need any more relationships to maintain than the ones I already have. In fact, I weekly "gamer night" to keep in touch with people I know IRL, but that live in other states/countries.
In my neck of the woods, watches are becoming relatively rare and mostly a fashion accessory. It's funny, I'm usually cheering the luddite posters who complain that cell phones should just make phone calls and not try to replace your whole personal electronics suite. This is one area where it seems that the cell phone legitimately replaces the function of something else.
I guess fighter pilots (the first users of wriswatches?) don't want to go digging in their pocket to see if it's time to come back from lunch yet.

Our problem is not texting, but bastards.
IOW... I'm going for number 5?
Since I have totally given up trying to post on topic any more:
People still subscribe to milk?
I'm sorry... What? I'm not even IN the park.
Could be worse. When I first heard of them, the bank wanted us to call 'em "ugly tellers".
What makes you think you'd be out here?
What makes you think either of you would be out there?
Oh, wait...

Re: the sequel
Somehow they must have snuck the TV version into the theater for my viewing. All I got was the ridiculous rave scene.

Hey, I'm just glad to see people citing their sources.
(Hmmm, I wonder if WetBlanketGuy is taken yet)

The people who are gazillionaires right now are the ones who found solutions to these problems.
Um... no. The gazillionaires are the lawyers and execs who hooked up the poeple that had the ideas with the business and legal infrastructure.
I played with the Impala, you insensitive clod.

Must go to land of 6'6" women! (swoon)
Cell phones are the new wrist watch.
