If you're telling me that having to hear the Japanese Voice actress who plays Asuka butcher her German is supposedly better than Tiffany Grant's performance, then I just have to shake my head.
Early ADV dubs may not be the best thing on earth, but Eva hardly had perfect voice acting to begin with. While the Japanese Shinji was better than the American, the rest of the cast is not significantly better. I'm usually a sub purest myself, but honestly -- people need to stop lifting the original Japanese actors to levels of godhood. Many times, the only reason people think they were better is because they don't understand what they were saying.
And before anyone tries to start a sub/dub war, remember -- dubs are what pay for your subs, and at least with DVDs they cost the same amount.
Well, considering the vast number of English Only ATMs I use on a daily basis, couldn't that lead to issues of green screened machines locking up, declaring "I'm sorry, but your language is not supported."
Or at least that's what would happen on the Diebold ones...
I don't know -- I chose to go with the PS2 initially to get my Final Fantasy games, since they had yet to make amends with Nintendo when the current generation came out.
Wasn't there a study not that long ago, which indicated that violent video games did not inspire violence, but that those predisposed to violence already were merely naturally attracted to them?
And let's not forget that violent crime in the United States has actually *dropped* over the last ten years, while video games have simultaneously become more violent.
...but the Milwaukee County Library system has had their card catalog in electronic form since the mid-nineties. From a terminal (many of which are still the nostalgic green screens) you can search for a book, see whether or not it's in the library you're in, and get it transfered across town from another library. You can also access it online from home so you can have a book reserved and held for you.
Someone had to put together that system, and someone has to maintain it.
Blame the Americans for that. The original Japanese title translates as "New Century Evangelion," which makes a little more sense.

The difference is that Ouija Boards have a higher statistical probability of actually working than this thing. :)
A well-designed system would have a fallback for when the user's preferred language wasn't available on the machine.
See, you're relying on someone to actually build a well designed system still. I lost that optimism a long time ago.

Well, there is that whole "Google Browser" based on Firefox they've been talking about.
Y'know... why build the extension if you can just build the browser and all...

I was unaware that there were even 21 WebTV users still. Honestly, who uses MSNTV/WebTV still?
This just goes to show that something really *is* completely uncool when Microsoft is writing guides to it.
Opened just fine for me...quick...almost too quick actually {shifty eyes}
Dear lord man, the word is quickly... adverbs man, adverbs!

Note to self: Next time, wear a mask.
I mean, we're just going to end up killing it all and http://science.howstuffworks.com/terraforming.htmt erraforming the whole friggin' place anyways.

Yeah, you'd think that if it were a security agency that they'd have the words "National Security" in their name or something... ...oh wait...
Don't think of it as "Blackmail" so much as "Microsoft Job Incentives"
