    When I was unemployed, I saw the gold farmers as a scourge, letting people pay to get stuff for nothing.

    Now that I have a job, and next to no time to play the games I like, it pisses me off that I never have the in-game cash to get the stuff I'd need to play alongside my friends without letting them down.

    It's a real shame on both ends of the spectrum. Them, for giving people the easy way out, and the game makers, for requiring so damn much of a time investment.

    I would say documenting virtual events is quite a bit more interesting than documenting say, the mating habits of honeybees. I'm fairly certain there are quite a few in the scientific community who'd disagree, but there is definitely an interest. If you don't like it, you don't have to participate. Nobody's pointing a gun at your head and forcing you to participate.

    Just because you're not "into it" doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. It's a safe bet nearly every hobby of yours would be considered a waste of time by most people.

    It's perfectly acceptable to think that you should be able to control what your kids watch on tv, to some extent.

    That's "censorship" but it's by no means extremist censorship.

    In fact it's perfectly acceptable.

    If you oppose this because you're afraid of what it could become, then you've lost touch with reality. There has to be a boundary line, a threshold that can't be crossed, and you have to be willing to accept that these copyright holders can't have people selling their property for profit.

    If you aren't willing to yield that, you're just giving all of us a bad name and giving them an infinite amount of ammunition to use against us when they do decide to cross that line.

    we only care that they stop prosecuting their customers.
