When Google decides to create a censored google.cn, Slashdotters bend over backwards to toe the line and support Google's claims that doing business in China is kinda sorta less evil than ignoring them. Now that we have Microsoft actually looking to leave China, stating it is for the reasons that make us unhappy that Google is in China, and every post I've seen so far is trying to find the "real" reason.

Maybe it's because we've learned that Microsoft is pure evil and can never be trusted to do anything socially responsible without ulterior motives.

  21. too many libs on GnuCash 2.0.0 Released · · Score: 2, Informative

When I last tried GnuCase (3 years ago), the biggest complaint about gnucash was that it depended on approximately 50 external libraries. It seemed to be a conglomeration of parts written in every existing language and toolkit. That reason alone sometimes made for an unstable application crashing at unexpected times. I hope they've cleaned it since then.

How is it even possible to use 11,000 different type faces?? They have to be adding up all the fonts on all the PCs. 500 PCs with unlicensed Adobe Garamond = 500 fonts.

Maybe they're counting each letter in the alphabet as a font. 500 PCs * 52 letters (upper & lower) = 26,000 fonts.
