It comes down to an accommodation. Cingular wants an iPhone exclusive and is probably paying Apple money for that privilege. Apple doesn't want Cingular Video. So the only elegant way around that problem is to make the iPhone incapable of operating on the 3G network. If you watch his Macworld keynote you'll notice Jobs says that Apple may eventually make 3G iPhone models. Yeah, right: I'm 100 percent convinced that all it would take to turn an EDGE iPhone into a 3G iPhone is a firmware upgrade, if that.
Mobile phone carriers are eager for video to succeed on their 3G and 4G platforms because it represents a major new source of revenue. Apple's iPhone is the best handset yet for displaying that video. But Apple isn't going to allow this to happen without Cupertino gaining a substantial piece of the action. I'm sure discussions are taking place right now with Cingular where Apple is arguing that the carrier should make its video service iTunes-compatible.

The lastest Global Warming Report simply says that : "humans are likely the cause of Global Warming". That means that there is no SCIENTIFIC PROOF that humans ARE the cause of global warming. The above report is "science" by POLL instead of science by scientific proof. Same situation as PLUTO being chucked out of the PLANET POOL. Because 400 guys in white lab coats were polled and made the decision on what was or wasn't a PLANET. The latter is the same bullshit that Wikipedia is based on - POLLING.
Likely the entire Global Warming debate is being initiated by the industrial chemical complex (in a divide and conquer strategy to keep folks busy and blind) - who don't want people to talk about the immediate health issues of air, food and water pollution - which causes all cancers, all leukemias, heart disease, asthma and a host of other chronic illness - and of course death.

The reason the Conservative Party is in power now ( voted in a minority election win) is because of the Liberal Party - the previous party in POWER - had millions & millions & millions being sucked off by the right friends - the RICH ELITE. A 6 month long "hearing" - The Gomery Commission exposed PAY FOR PRIVILEGE. Hundreds of examples of PAY FOR PRIVILEDGE. One example - a son of civil/public servant - all of 21 years old fresh out of school - made 1.27 MILLION in his first year out of school carrying cheques from one office to another. There was a hundred percent markup for delivering the cheque - to cover the cost of walking the cheque from one office to another office down the hallway!!!!!! Only one or two out of dozens has done jail time so far.

I've already reported about how CRIA was busy arranging an event for government officials within days of the election which led to a sponsored lobby session on March 2nd that included a government-funded lunch and a private meeting with Minister Oda. Internationally reknown architect, city designer, public open space designer Jan Gehl, the head speaker at the USA''s Mayor Conference, says that all cities are using the DOG SHIT PILE approach to planning (misplanning) cities. And then later on, some citizens try to figure out how to make that part of the city LIVABLE. Which turns out to be next to impossible. As fantastic example of an UNLIVABLE downtown is Toronto - along the downtown waterfront. There are 50,000 people living in the above BIG BOX neighborbood. No one is on the streets - ever - because of DOG SHIT PILE planning. Everyone uses their cars to escape to somewhere else - to the 3 or 4 neighborhoods (ONLY) in the city that have not been destroyed (YET) by the LAND SPECULATORS.
Finally the Democratic Party is waking up from their 12 year sleep - during which ROVE set up this gigantic network to FRAME the brains of USA voters (google George Lakoff). ROVE using money from CHURCHES to pay 10,000 or more PAY FOR SAY BLOGGGERS - to repeat over and over - the same 100 words, the same 100 sentences, and the same 100 phrases about the Democrats. And this repetition works. Say something often enough and people believe it. That's what advertising is all about - repetition.
It will be over Bush's (Rove's) dead body that the Pres. will let this legislation go through. Because it will expose all the 10,000 PAY FOR SAY BLOGGERS. Because if passed, it would warn voters that they are reading info on a web site paid for and by the Republican Party with money scammed from the Churches (who didn't know that Bush and Rove make jokes about the sucker Churches on a daily basis - but now the Churches do know ).

As described this week, when the iPhone ships it will only work with Cingular's EDGE network, which is its 2G Internet service that maxes out at 170 kilobits per second on not just a good day but on a day that is so good it never happens. I've used the EDGE network and it feels like dial-up to me. The iPhone is this amazing connectivity quad-mode device that can probably make use of as much bandwidth as it can get, so making it suck through the little straw that is EDGE makes no sense from a user perspective. But remember that the parties involved here are Apple and Cingular, neither of which is 100 percent allied with user interests. Cingular has a 3G network called BroadbandConnect or "MediaNet" if you buy Cingular's associated Cingular Video service. And there's the problem -- Cingular Video, which is based on RealVideo, NOT QuickTime or H.264..................... It comes down to an accommodation. Cingular wants an iPhone exclusive and is probably paying Apple money for that privilege. Apple doesn't want Cingular Video. So the only elegant way around that problem is to make the iPhone incapable of operating on the 3G network. If you watch his Macworld keynote you'll notice Jobs says that Apple may eventually make 3G iPhone models. Yeah, right: I'm 100 percent convinced that all it would take to turn an EDGE iPhone into a 3G iPhone is a firmware upgrade, if that. Mobile phone carriers are eager for video to succeed on their 3G and 4G platforms because it represents a major new source of revenue. Apple's iPhone is the best handset yet for displaying that video. But Apple isn't going to allow this to happen without Cupertino gaining a substantial piece of the action. I'm sure discussions are taking place right now with Cingular where Apple is arguing that the carrier should make its video service iTunes-compatible.There is just so much IRRATIONAL crap expressed here and other places. Instead, rationally expressed viewpoints (in the case of any science) must be based on the SCIENTIFIC METHOD. Doesn't anyone in the USA study the SCIENTIFIC METHOD in school now a days (or ever?)? There are no such things as theories; on the other hand in SCIENTIFIC METHOD there is a HYPOTHESIS:

The latest court case at the USA's Supreme Court - showed that there is no scientific proof (via the scientific method - grade 9 science remember?) - "that we humans are causing GW". But at the same time it's interesting to note that Canadians don't buy the GW Bull while apparently USA citizens do believe the GW Bull (just like 40% of USA citizens believe that Saddam took down the Twin Towers).
I have always been perplexed as to why USA citizens are less rational when it comes to all kinds of issues from "IDers know more about science than anyone else" to Single Sex Marriageis Bad", or that "Ohio was going to clean Florida's clock".
