I was a netflix user for about a year and a half... I would get my dvds in the mail, watch them within 1-2 days, send them back and get another in 2-3 days. I ended up watching seasons 3-7 of Star Trek Voyager along with several dozens of other misc. movies (100+ discs). It was no hastle to me except to have to drive to the post office to drop them off.
All was well until about the last 2 months where at least 75% of the DVDs would never show up; Netflix would report them as being shipped but I would never get them. This was not normal since I had never once prior to this time had to report a DVD as 'missing' or 'not received' in their system... I was extremely frustrated by this and had heard that they have a system in place where if you use the service too much they will purposefully put a minor hold on sending you DVDs. I do not know if my account hit this barrier, as I only had the 3 at a time service, but it's still a very inappropriate procedure in my opinion.
Needless to say, I ended up qutting my service because of the rate at which I would not get DVDS and when I found out about this tid bit of information.
I have planned on going to Blockbuster because:
1. Same or close prices for same service
2. I have one near so using the 2-free movies a month would be worth it.
The way I look at it is it doesn't necessarily mean that women have dropped out of I.T but there could be an increase in men into the I.T field which takes away from the women population thus lowering the percentage they have of the I.T workforce.
For example:
41/100: women are 41% where men are 59%.
41/117: women are 35% where men are 65%.
Same amount of women but just higher amount of men.
Along with preventing piracy Microsoft will be helping with laziness and eliminating convenience! Now instead of registering via the Internet, which takes all of ~30 seconds, I now have to wait on hold for several minutes/hours/days and then I have the challenge of convincing them that I DO have a legit copy of windows... Ahh I can't wait!
Bush won't take a stand against our ability to pollute because of the difficulties it would have on our economy... Yet if we don't at least try to do something about it we won't be here to have an economy to worry about... So which do we choose? The economy or longer existance on this planet?
From my experience... 3+ years on Everquest, Meridian 59 every now and again since 1996, Anarchy Online for ~ 3 months, WoW, EQ2 and numerous others have wasted several years of my late-teenage life....
It's like a job, except you don't get paid for playing the game... You get hooked and end up playing for 10 hours after school every single day and all weekend..... I can't believe that Everquest ruled my life for 3 years during high school... *sob*
The graphics were an important part of the initial experience, but they are just eye candy, and they get old fast. Why would I still play old games when the new ones have the better graphics? Gameplay? That's right.
I am in total agreeance.. I mean, why did I play Everquest for so many years with less than par graphics and Everquest 2 for only a couple weeks?.... There were many factors, addiction, lack of a life, etc.. But gameplay was definately there.
My system worked just fine all day yesterday.

I had that same idea years ago.... Oh well my lazy factor, lack of motivation and know how kept me from pursuing it..
