I never felt that buying music was an "investment". I don't go about saying "My CD collection is worth X dollars". I go about saying "I really enjoy listening to my CD collection."
I don't care what the resale value of my CDs is. My CDs are not a car. I don't plan to sell my CDs after I listen to them X times.
Promises are great. Last time a cop pulled me over for speeding and threatened me with a ticket I promised that I won't speed again...those who know me probably laugh at the notion...
Thats kinda the point. All there is to it is some guy saying "Sure I'll delete it..."
When selling used CDs the actual CD is trasnfered, NOT A COPY OF THE CD. In this case the user could sell the 'COPY' and NOT delete the original. There is NO way to enforce this.
If iTunes supported user to user sales then yes, it'd be great. But I don't see this working on eBay.
if RIAA as much as mentions that auction, eBay WILL take it off.
eBay will cooperate generaly cooperate on anything that can land it in a lawsuit. Sure lost revenue from forbidden auctions sucks, but not as much as lawsuits.
When Sony threatened eBay with a lawsuit regarding people selling Everquest gear on eBay, eBay banned the sellers and deleted all auctions.
Yes but thats alot more effort and you can only sell the used CD once.
I could be wrong, but is there something that will prevent the files from being sold over and over again by the same person with all profits going to himself instead of EFF?
There is an Act that if passed will require clear lables on all copy protected CDs. From EFF: Senator Ron Wyden recently introduced the Digital Consumer Right-to-Know Act (DCRKA), a bill that would require entertainment companies to label products with copy-protections that limit consumer use. Support the DCRKA if you think the content industry should be ordered to clearly label media that restricts your rights!

Still I think the parent should be raped by Bubba for the retarded desire to pirate a game in a case where the publisher is FOR A CHANGE TRYING TO BE FUCKING REASONABLE.
I mean demanding money for things that you had no input in? It's like me asking everyone who uses Windows to pay me because I think Ms stole my code. Hmm I think I'd have more reason than SCO actually..I did sent Ms some beta bug reports...
Alright, GTA:VC might have outsold Robbie Williams...but then again. He really really sucks imo. Alright so Feel might sound ok..but everything else is crap.
Hardly a fair comparison...

First of all, moving to 14 bits from 12 adds quite a bit of room. Sure not as much as 96 but still. The move to 14bit is happening next year.
Second, they ramble on about "labeling every can of coke" but they never mention how much it'd cost to label a 10c can of coke.
Oh yes they won't begin to replace things for a decade...I say never. It's too absurd, I'm sorry but not a lot of people will want chips on every can of coke.
Maybe I'm the only one confused here, but why would anyone want to invest absurd ammounts of money into upgrading an id system when the current is good enough.
I don't remember anyone complaing about not having enough barcodes etc...
The best line by far is:"I didn't want to hurt anyone"
You got to be shitting me. You take a.22 rifle and shoot at cars...wtf are you trying to do?
If you're shooting a rifle anywhere but at the shooting range, you're shooting to kill as far as I know.
Even in GTA, you only ever shot to either blow up the truck or kill the driver.
It's absurd that anyone believes their bullshit.

Online courses only really work in cases where people are highly driven or very short on time. As in medical school etc.
Generaly the problem is that it's too easy to 'disconnect' from class and never open the book or do the homework as the web lectures and forum based discussions don't create the same level of attachment and group learning as class.
I'm currently a college student and I have taken a web based class this term and the first few weeks adjusting to it was tough. I kept forgetting to check the boards, to post replies etc. Since you get graded on the level of discussion on the boards etc...first few weeks sucked.
It's very nice though to have all the slides available 24/7 online, even ones from classes taught by other profs. Even better if they post last years tests 8-)
I know that I seem to ask this on at least half of the new products posted here...but I just don't get it!
Why in the world would you want 2 weeks of TV? I suppose multiple shows etc...but thats a LOT of shows.
Maybe if I could plug it into my DVD player and copy over the 5 DVDs I rented but forgot to watch before they were due back. Still 2 weeks?
I think it'll be cool when it can store 6 hours and cost $150.
I never felt that buying music was an "investment". I don't go about saying "My CD collection is worth X dollars".

I don't think that in this case it should apply.
In my mind purchasing music in mp3 format should be a non transferable license.
I can see it now, people listing entire "Collections of high quality mp3s for $600! A $6000 value!" and promising to delete their files...
It just wouldn't work.
Fine, let them blame piracy.
If it's piracy then the "protection" obviously isn't working.
Boycotting will do some good,,,
Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) the clear answer to that is:
"DON'T BUY COPY PROTECTED DISKS"
It's called boycotting and it works.

Worse yet, when I last visited Mars, it was nothing like that book describes. It's alright though, they give out guide books at the customs.
Don't forget the dropbear repelent..

I'm shivering about RIAA finding out about things like eMule..

I did not see the option for that on the site when I tried to configure the most expnsive of the bunch.
The only option I got was to change the support plan. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place.
It's cheap budget PC. I mean the most RAM it can have is 256Mb...40G 5.4kRPM hd...yay.
I really dislike how Linux keeps getting labeled as the "cheap" solution to Windows. Yes it's cheaper than windows but thats not the ONLY advatange.
I hated how AMD was viewed exactly in the same way when compared to Intel. "The cheaper solution.."
Umm yes:
At the sector's largest trade fair IFA in Berlin, the first Linux products are already on show and more will cum soon, companies said.

Simple. Put it in bios. No way to bypass that at boot unless yout open the PC and flash that. Even then...
The thing about Manga is that the story is far far more involved and logical than most US commics.
Thing is that Manga is generaly story based while US comics are action based. Bang, Pow, Boom, they all get old fast. Good stories last.
Yes, because you can download avi files from it that were made with the camera attachment.
People often use these things to share mp3s right now.
