The government treats homeschooling parents the same way as well - homeschoolers who take steps to do serious at-home experiments in science and other fields have experienced this same treatment. This is nothing new..just a power-hungry government official.
"many are still pissed off over the grant of retroactive immunity for spying on American citizens for no reason."
1. I don't think they are spying "for no reason"
2. They are intercepting calls made to/from a foreign country.
If you want sympathy for the cause, make sure you describe the issue accurately.
Focusing on time alone can lead you in the wrong direction. PMI offers some free information on their website on Project Management (pmi.org) that can help you get some hand on PM from a general overview perspective. It's about managing all resources, not just time or money and ultimately PM is about efficiency.
Time is just one piece of the puzzle. One project can be closed ahead of schedule and be crap at the same time.
I grew up in Europe. Cheating on tests in school is nothing foreign to public school students, so it's evident this kid brought that mentality with him here and thought he would get away with it.
A lot of grade-keeping databases keep hashes and blind copies of grades stores in other places so it's likely that's how he got nailed.
So they are trying to kill two birds with one stone? Offload their email traffic to someone else and suck less with their support? Sounds like a good business plan...it doesn't mean it will necessarily work.
It's a combination of factors; all versions of Windows except Vista lack a "run as" option out of the box. Yes, we can tweak settings to make it more secure, but that approach is unacceptable. The problem is a combination of users' lack of education, insecure operating environments, popularity of OS, etc. It's not one single problem that we can tackle and deal with.
You can add more to that. Page 101 under "Punishment"
"There are men dead because they attacked us" - Hubbard
This is no religion or cult...it's criminal.
I would certainly agree with you! I have experienced this firsthand, where I was asked just absolutely stupid questions, for example about "regular expressions" when I was interviewing for a position dealing with risk management. I guess the core issue is that most interviewers forget that there is more to security than just technical controls. The "keen personal insights" and technical experience can unfortunately often be mutually exclusive.
I was under the impression that Jet A can't be ignited by a spark or even a flame unless the environment meets a certain compression/saturation criteria. Maybe I am wrong, but I even remember a myth busters episode where they couldn't light jet fuel with a lit torch no matter how hard they tried.
It doesn't mean that improvements shouldn't be pursued, but is the threat exaggerated? An if current sensors work just fine, why replace something that works well?
That would make too much sense:) Actually a lot of waste dumps are already collecting the methane released and using it for those purposes.
Let's face it - this is BS propagandistic garbage; most likely coming from the same people saying that farting cows are destroying the world. First it was CO2, then it was freon, now it's methane, next will be rich capitalists who need their money taken away as punishment. Nobody is offering any real solutions, only blame. It's politics more than it's real concern for the problem.
I also agree, and your point shows that this is not really a scientific issue, but rather a philosophical one. As long as the conversation remains in the philosophical realm, it's wonderful, but this article is just BS "science" if you ask me.
Exactly! Someone is getting "trigger happy" with human existence here. Do animals count when they "observe" stars and macro-events, or is it just white geeky males causing the demise of the entire universe here?:)
Agreed. Most ethernet networks today are switched and require a switch port to be in monitor mode before a pc can listen to traffic. I understand the dangers of wireless sniffing, but come on...let's not claim that something that is build into the ethernet standard is a vulnerability.

The idea that anonymous routers/nodes can offer your secure routing of traffic is laughable. Since most folks don't understand the difference between anonimizing traffic and securing traffic, the entire conversation is a waste of time. The observations are interesting, but they are not surprising at all.
Well said; thanks for attempting to clear this up. I am amazed at how many people attempt to apply first amendment rules to every instance in which they are not allowed to say something. Best example would be this..I call my boss a jackass, he fires me, and then I sue because it's a first amendment issue. Come on...
This is not a first amendment issue. The first amendment applies to POLITICAL SPEECH not criticism of companies. AT&T can terminate or refuse service to anyone for whatever reason they feel like making up. FCC regulation may have some effect on service offers, but please stop applying the first amendment to anything and everything under the sun...
Bravo United States! The Internet was created here so control should stay here, not just for now, but forever. I am sure socialists with their sense of entitlement would love to get their paws on it and control all aspect of internet freedom. Nothing is broken, so why change anything?
I just want to point out that the problems with the foam started immediately after NASA gave in to the enviro-whackos and changed the formula for the fuel tanks foam to be "environmentally friendly." This is just another illustration of the deadly consequences of pushing extreme environmental agenda. People have lost their lives over this nonsense...someone really needs to get their act together and go back to the original design of the tanks which worked flawlessly for a very long time.
"The ACLU recently issued a report revealing that the FBI has amassed more than 1,100 pages of documents on the organization since 2001, as well as documents concerning other non-violent groups, including Greenpeace and United for Peace and Justice."
Well there are two stand up organizations for you...known to have never done anything wrong or be associated with any groups with terrorist tendencies.

Gee..that sounds like hip-hop!
WTF??

eBay is not a monopoly. They should be able to use whatever payment methods they want. If users don't want to use their services, they don't have to.

Well the Russians do need it open to keep the space-tourist dollars coming in. Don't let gravity be an obstacle for free markets baby...

Wonderful news...finally, something WE made remains in America. Imagine that!
