    The internet is not an ATM network. Voiceip is just something you supplement your regular service with. BTW we have problems with our pbx systems all the time, and they are not voiceip.

    I was going to say the same thing but your post covered it. There is no circular relationship in electronegativity, which is really the most important concept in basic chemistry. What is the point of the galaxy? Visual noise. Looks like the equivalent of 'new math' for chemistry.

    2. Similarly, many Slashdot readers are brilliant people who have educated themselves to a large extent. Let's further accept that most people are not capable of doing this, or at any rate need help reaching that sort of educational self-sufficiency.

    The goal of education is to teach students how to teach themselves.

    Yes, each instance should be taken on it's merit. Your example differs quite a bit from somebody that creates a custom virus and uses human engineering to get it in a network(such as a bank) so they can steal. Such a crime seems as though it deserves a harsher sentance.

    The compiler software engineers aren't stupid. Why would you write an extra routine for AMD if you didn't have to? The P4 version ran fine. If anything the logic of your posting really proves their guilt.

    If they advertised that they do not support AMD processors nobody would buy their compiler. Nobody would write an extra (slow) routine if the existing P4 version runs fine on an AMD processor.
    Intel clearly went out of their way to cripple AMD processors.

    With the shuttle NASA abandoned the 100% testbed validation of the design and just cobbled the whole thing together to save money. The shuttle should of been scrapped 20 years ago.

    If you see one cockroach there are probably hundreds you don't see. I would bet the next thing to blow up the space shuttle will be totally different. It seems as though we will only be rid of these things by blowing them up.
