I have comcast. I've seen my google page slow on loading while another site is super fast. I dont get those slow downs at work or at clients when I work at their houses. Comcast is not just slowing down bit torrents but are slowing down lots of other things as well. Would you like the idea that Comcast can slow down your access to yahoo because they made a deal with Microsoft to make the service look weak and drive the cost of stock down? I'm not saying this is going on, but is a possibility. I think if you paid for service you should get the service. I don't want my google slowed down so that I will use another search engine. I dont want my torrents slowed down. I like getting the latest linux releases quickly. And yes I'm going to be leaving Comcast in the next month. Id rather have the choice of what I get out of the internet rather than what others think I should have.

This would work really good, of course we would have to beat everyone into submission to get them to agree to it first, but it would eventually work. I personally have never had any luck convincing an insane person with rationality. Also I think you will find that a lot of warlords out there already think less of their people than the value of a battle bot. They would most likely prefer to send 100,000 "replaceable" people (that they can't feed because they needed that new bunker/humvee)than lose the cost of one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleBots.

  16. Re:RTFA on NYC Wants to Ban Geiger Counters · · Score: 2, Insightful

I RFTA, and it would seem to me, that it would be better to hold the people that reported false alarms that caused a panic accountable instead of removing the availability for detectors. I can see in the near future that air detectors will get smaller and smaller in time. Emergency crews, paramedics, and first responders everyday run into substances and chemicals that cause major damage to them, that could be prevented by knowing that an area is dangerous. Even entering a room with methlab chemicals has caused lung damage to paramedics. To make the means to detect these illegal, ( I realize that emergency crews would most likely get permits quite easily) seems very stupid. Right now we have carbon monoxide detectors, and smoke detectors that save lives everyday. Why take anything similar than that out of everyday hands. Why can't Joe Blow check and see if he really wants to live downwind from the petroleum factory. Why can't a person walk by the weird looking truck with a gieger counter. Is it really bad if the neighbor wants to check the smoke across his yard from the neighbors bbq? If these devices do no harm in and of themselves why would we ever take them from the hands of honest citizens. Far better to hold the people that would cause a panic responsible for their actions as they would find other ways to cause a panic and we would eventually have to outlaw everything that could cause a scare.

Every time I called best buy for a date when the wii would be there they just brushed me off. Even the day before the sale. Best Buy also does not release their ad till the Sunday of the sale even on their website so you end up waiting till midnight to see if an item is on sale. I personally would like to thank speedy, even though it maybe illegal it actually got bestbuy a sale from me. As for circuit city, I stopped shopping there about the time of the divx.
