  1. Kevin Rose's Reply on Growing Censorship Concerns at Digg · · Score: 1

I think its important to note that "kevin rose's reply" was posted on 12/19/05. much earlier than all these recent accusations.

  2. FREE on Videogames Are Far More Than Play · · Score: 4, Insightful

I think the biggest reason America's Army was so popular was because it was a decent first person shooter - THAT WAS FREE.

  3. 3G Ipod on Yet Another Holiday Gift Guide · · Score: 5, Interesting

The 3rd Generation Ipod idea is great. I still have my 3G. Besides looking awesome (completley white in the front with ALL touch-sensitive buttons. It also looks bad ass when the backlight is on because the buttons glow red) it was the Linux Project's origional goal.

  4. Whats this? on Copyright and Webcomics - A New Trend? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Wow, a story about someone that actually cares about artists and giving them a "fair deal"? One can only hope that this type of thing leaks into other companies and media.

I totally agree. I have no problem enforcing the 17+ rating for M games. As long as people who are at least 17 can still buy these games, then what is the big problem with not letting 13 year olds buy GTA?

  10. Impressive on UK to Build Network of 150 Digital Cinemas · · Score: 3, Insightful
    From the Article:

The new network will double the world's total of digital screens.

Wow, thats pretty impressive. i'm actually quite jealous. I wonder how long it will take for the states to get anything close to that.

While I understand his fears that googles digitalized archive will be biased towards the United States, I am happy with Google's response. Looks like they are going to digitalize other nation's libraries as well! This project will takes years and years, but I think once its done, it will be one of the most important accomplishments of internet.

  17. Hardrives on Xbox 2 To Feature Removeable Hard Drive · · Score: 1

I really thought that the release of the Xbox would establish hardrives as a nesesity for all consoles that would be released after it. The hardrive is: 1) EXTREMELY convienient, I only know of one person who has bought a memory card for the system. 2) Super fast. Having a hard drive reminds me back to the cartridge days when saving your progress took no more than 3 seconds. 3) Allows for downloadable content on xbox live. If the next xbox has a version without a HD then it will make it impossible to release patches and other content through LIVE. I think that the more expensive hard drive version will be way more popular than the cheaper one. also, i expect the sales of the removable hardrive to be impressive also. What if this whole no hardrive thing is just a way to suck mor money out of consumers who crave a HD and will buy the add on?

  18. Re:Koreans on Blizzard Releases StarCraft Patch · · Score: 1

Solitaire and Minesweeper are different. They are free with windows and they start instantly. Basically they are time killers. People who play starcraft on b.net are playing for competition.

  19. Koreans on Blizzard Releases StarCraft Patch · · Score: 1

Well if you haven't played the game recently, I would approximate that 70% of the remaining StarCraft players on Battlenet are Korean. I don't know why its so popular still over there because I don't see why anyone would still be playing a game so old.

Well, the Halo2 Review adds nothing we haven't known for months (It came out in the begining of November for crying out loud) but the review of the MagicBox XFPS was good. I was considering purchasing one. I heard it beats a controller for sniping.

  23. A Question on Ready or Not, Here comes Windows XP SP2 · · Score: 1

  24. Its not going away on Movie Games Losing Their Appeal to Game Publishers · · Score: 5, Insightful

Just because some publishers are moving away from movie licences doesn't mean its going away. People wil still buy games just because it has spiderman or harry potter on the cover no matter how bad the game may be. And as long as people are willing to buy the games, publishers will keep buying licences.

  25. Deadlines on Movie Games Losing Their Appeal to Game Publishers · · Score: 4, Informative

I think the biggest problem of making a game based on a movie is releasing the game close to when the movie came out. When the matrix game came out the same day as the movie, you could tell it was just unfinished. There were so many bugs, big and small, and the whole game just felt unfinished.
