In my part of the world the term video games and computer games are interchangeable... referring to PC games and console games for specifics . A translation problem between English and English I believe heh
The biggest selling computer game ever is Super Mario brothers.. the Mario games are the biggest selling series by a wide margin.(Super Mario brothers sold 40 million in the USA alone,, SMB3 sold 18 million or so and Super Mario 64 sold around 10 million)
So you're under the impression that live acts don't require sound production. Also sound engineers would still get paid for doing work on recordings, would they not? Just because artists make little money off of recordings does not mean that the production Engineers also do not !
and how would any of this affect sound production for lets say.. The sound effects industry and film/TV audio production .
Here's a news flash : Your logic was flawed And BTW , my experience ranges from Very sweaty guys and girls with electric guitars in small pubs... to productions of Handel's Messiah in large concert halls . Can you guess what i was doing there when i was not performing or a member of the audience..I will give you a clue..Your argument is based around them

'You ever noticed that in comic books that the hero never gets any of the negative aspects of the animal . Like why does Spiderman not have an urge to eat flies . Catwoman has never been known to jump on your curtains and knock plants over. Batman can see , does not sleep upside down and crap on his floor . The flash(whilst strictly not an animal ) never did wear a raincoat and expose himself Its insanity i tell you , if you did turn into mouse man in real life you would probably gain the abilities to have cats claw at your face , make stereotypical women shriek and have a 2 year life span
I've spent a lot of time around Semi-pro and professional musicians , They make their money performing , doing gigs and concert halls... Music sales make them hardly any money its all swallowed up by the suits.. What it does for the artists though is promote their work , gives fans the chance to enjoy their music when they can't catch a gig.. let a friend hear it so hopefully the next time they are doing a gig locally they will have a larger audience. Only the top 0.1% really make any money off of record sales . Those artists who have already made it to the top are the ones making all the fuss , everyone else is off doing making money performing .
The real reason they are going after file sharers and not the real organised criminals. They are easy to catch. They make nice scapegoats for bad movies They won't put a bomb in you car

nanotechnology | noun the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometers, esp. the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules.
(from the dictionary on my desk )
However dictionaries do disagree on this..and some give this
nanotechnology [Show phonetics] noun [U] an area of science which deals with developing and producing extremely small tools and machines by controlling the arrangement of individual atoms
Which could be interesting.. if they use the ipod touch wheel you could do away with those silly small keys and have a rather cool emulation of finger stop dialling
you're missing my point. I am not complaining about the DRM restriction here, in this case it can be seen as valid . however http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/lice nsing/licensing.aspx it will cost money to implement WMA playback in certain regions unless you pay for the privilege. That or break the law .
The cassette player analogy is flawed.you require a cassette player to use a cassette just as you require a computer or other device to use a file of this nature . Its more like they are asking you to have a specific type of magnetic head on your cassette player . I am not talking about open and gratis here . I am talking about Open standards
Well my nick is a joke actually.. I am not a communist but a liberal socialist who believes in a strong free market. However i do not really see media being shared communally as a bad thing, but i realise that Artists need to make a profit and in the current set up there is little chance of them doing so in another fashion .
If i were to take you on your nick name I would assume you were either an Alien , An ISP or Eliot smith .
There is nothing stopping you from learning English, you are free to in all senses of the word(it helps if you pay for a tutor but no legal requirements are in place). You are in no sense of the word free to use WMA files... at least with 100% legality in certain countries . That is especially true for the DRM'd versions of WMA files
The virus writers are but pawns,to really curb the problem something would need to be done about organised crime... Execute the writers in your country and you just cause the Mafioso to outsource their virus writers .
What really needs to be done is to cut out there vectors of attack. That or a serious effort to stop organised crime.. and I see very few governments with the bottle to actually do that.
The lesson of Icarus , know your limits. Overambitious projects always sound great.. unfortunately the disappointment becomes exponential when it doesn't live up to the hype and you come crashing back to earth.
